Topological Geometrodynamics (TGD)
    #2026853 - 10/20/03 10:35 PM (13 years, 1 month ago)

http://www.physics.helsinki.fi/~matpitka/

Topological Geometrodynamics is a somewhat obscure unified theory of the universe. It is like string theory in some ways - it could be considered a generalization of string theory - but replaces strings with 3-dimensional surfaces. Surfaces are considered submanifolds of an 8-dimensional space.

A theory of consciousness comes naturally from TGD theory. It explains living-matter and biosystems as behaving like macroscopic quantum systems. It separates subjective and objective time as two entirely different things. Objective time is the temporal dimension, or time coordinate in a 4-D space. Subjective time is the experience of a continuous stream of quantum jumps which consciousness undergoes.

It might be tough reading for some...but if you have an interest in new fringe-physics I highly recommend this site!

What you know you can't explain,
But you feel it;
You've felt it your entire life.
That there's something wrong with the world.
You don't know what it is, but it's there....
Like a splinter in your mind...
Driving you mad.

Yes that's exactly how I felt after reading it

I remember the first time I came accross String theory, and my intuition started screaming at me "THIS IS CLOSE!!!"

I got the same feeling when reading this theory. :smirk:

One of the things I look for in a "good theory" is Elegance. I'd say that's the first thing I look for when making an intuitive decision on the validity of a theory.

Elegance can tell you a lot.

So, naturally, I like theories like TGD where we find things that are required to "be" in order for the theory to make any sense.

It looks like TGD requires the existence of consciousness. In a way, all matter would have some form of consciousness in that it is linked to a so-called Massless Extremal (ME).

I need to do a LOT more reading  :smirk:
