Moving to bulk using WBS. Can I use my 8oz jars for anything?
    #20266572 - 07/13/14 11:48 AM (10 years, 6 months ago)

I plan on following this Wild Bird Seed Tek. I have quite a lot of 8 oz jars left over from my PF teks. Would I be able to use them for smaller bulk grows? Or should I just stick to using 16 oz jars?

Use 32oz (1qt) jars for WBS. You can get more WBS prepared and it's the standard around here.

Don't rinse the WBS after simmering because it will then be too wet. Just let it steam dry in the strainer with no lid.

Don't wipe needle with alcohol after flame sterilizing. It defeats the purpose of flame sterilizing.

I still have My Pf jars too. I still do PF Tek when I'm testing a culture, so don't toss them.

If you are interested in another WBS method, this is how I do it.

Sorry, I meant to type 16 oz, not 32. I had to run and check to make sure I didn't buy the wrong ones, thankfully they're 32 oz. Thanks for the info!
