subaeruginosa corpse?

i live in South Australia and found these today which is out of season by a couple months. are they subs? stem is hollow, light brown caps, ascendings gills and traces of blue staining.

That'd be a negative. No bluing at all. Subaeruginosa typically blues pretty heavily.

Wow... Whats with calling them corpses?
That just sounds so... morbid. Makes me picture a dried out dead person. Ew.

I've heard most people call them dried mushrooms.

No and the shrooms have a ring, they are definitely not P. subaeruginosa.

i only got one picture to work, and i couldnt see a ring. Id guess they are some sort of hypholoma maybe? Without any bluestaining at all at that age, they couldnt be subaeruginosa.

I was basing my opion on the third image on page one of this post which to me looks like a ring as it dried.

here is a close up of that shroom in his pictures on page one of this post.

Good call - wasnt arguing mate as i could only see one picture - but you are quite right - thats a quite persistant ring and that is not indicative in any way of subaeruginosa - :smile:
