6qt double tub

So I did some wbs jars with some verm added as an experiment where I added more lc to see if they'd colonize faster (actually reduced speed) anyways they look good-ish. Because of the ish I want to fruit them all separately. I have a bunch of 6qt tubs so I figured I'd do a few mini double tubs. (I don't have enough perlite to put them in a sg assuming they all fully colonize) anyways with mini double tubs I don't have a drill bit for a good size for the holes. Biggest I have is a 1/4 bit. Do you think it'd work well if I used 8 tightly stuffed bottom holes (4 on each side) and 1 open one top? Also should I tape up the two tubs or would a small strip of seran wrap work.

You could maybe go for a monotub design by drilling several holes close together to make the usual 3/4-1" holes? I don't know if that's feasible

Plastic wrap would work fine instead of tape. There is no real golden rule on how many 1/4 inch holes you would need. I'd suggest maybe 8 holes towards the bottom and 2 or 4 holes towards top, top holes stuffed more lightly than the bottom.
The nice thing about polyfil and monotub holes is you can add or reduce the polyfil density according to your humidity/fae needs, or even tape holes up completely.

OP I think what you want to make is a SGFC. Cakes will not do well in a Double Tub because they need the perlite to create a humid environment. If you put 8 big poly stuffed holes in your tubs your cakes are going to dry out.
Perlite is cheep when you buy it in bulk online. Make 3-4 SGFC's with 1/4 holes every 2 inches on all sides and d4-5 inches of perlite on bottom.

each tub is only 5 inches tall so 5 inches of perlite would probably not leave enough room for cakes

He doesnt have cakes...he has wbs with a bit of verm. He will obviously be breaking it apart for his tubs.
Im making a few dub tubs soon and from my research, i read that I should leave the bottom tub intact and make the top one shotgun style. If youre making several for testing anyhow, try different methods.

On the plus side I found some old Tupperware when doing dishes today. They're the perfect size so I could put them side by side in my mini mono or stack em in a mini sg chamber

I have done this with two shoebox tubs and it worked great. 1 qt rye + enough bulk sub to fill the bottom tub usually gets me 1.5 oz first flush.
Not too special but it works for left over jars

I don't know how I missed that either. Sorry. So your making a dub with a 1/4 drill bit? No I don't think it will work.
