Worried about pins not growing... would like some opinoins

Hey guys, I have all these pins- some as old as 3 days, some since I just woke up. But not much growth otherwise. Starting to get worried. This is my first time so I'd like to get some thoughts on how this looks and my process.
Temperatures have been fluctuating, but always between 70 and 80. I mist 3-4 times a day (when I wake up, get home from work, and once or twice until bed- try to keep the cakes sweating). There's an LED light that's 12 on, 12 off.
When I mist, it's probably for a solid 10-15 seconds of straight spray-spray-spray... Then fan for 30 seconds.
I'm wondering if my problem's FAE. Pic 4 should give you an idea of how many holes and how big they are. But... I may have committed a cardinal sin. The holes are definitely too big for the perlite, so I used packing tape to cover them up JUST where the perl is. Obviously stupid because no air can get through, but it was necessary to not have perl spewing everywhere. Will have to make a new tub next time with smaller holes I guess (MUCH smaller holes... how do you guys do this? just a million fucking tiny holes? perl is small).
Pic 1 is the oldest pin. Pic 2 is the youngest group. I took the cakes off foil because water was collecting at the bottom and I was afraid they we're getting soaked.
I appreciate your thoughts!

The cakes should not be directly touching the perlite, use jar lids or foil as coasters.
There should be 1/4" holes in a grid pattern every 2" on all 6 sides....not bigger or smaller.

If you used a 1/4" drill bit, then the perlite should not have fallen out. There will be a little (very minimal) loss of perlite through the 1/4" holes, but not much.
Do you have holes drilled in both the top and bottom of your SGFC?
Regardless, the holes should be on all 6 sides of the chamber. 1/4" holes spaced every 2" apart.
If you have taped up any of your holes, then you are not only affecting your FAE, but your RH as well.
Also, make sure that your cakes are not sitting directly on the Perlite. Put them on a lid or aluminum foil square. If they sit on the perlite directly, the cakes tend to try and colonize it.
EDIT** It looks like PF had the same ideas..lol it took me 4 minutes to type it up.

OK, some of my holes are exactly 1/4", some are one size smaller. All are roughly 1.5" to 3" apart.
I remember seeing in on of the PF tek vids that having them on foil was preference... but I'll get them on lids later today.
What's RH?
I must've gotten the wrong perlite, stuff for potting isn't the right stuff I guess. Too small. Every rock is an 1/8" at the max.

Foil or lids...either way just as long as they are not directly on the perlite.
RH=Relative Humidity
Your pics show that your perlite looks pretty standard. I am not even sure if there are different sizes of perlite...I think they are all about the same. Admittedly, I have been using the same brand from the same garden place for a while, so I may not be correct on that.

Hey man, not lookin' too shabby.
cluster your cakes together, maybe 2-4 inches apart. they can trap humidity pretty effectively (definitely more so than what you've got now ). It can definitely benefit your flush!

the pinset looks a little weak, but that's okay. Your successive flushes may end up doing better.
everything looks good in the sense that nothing appears to be wrong with them. I know that's not exactly words of encouragement but you're on the right track
sending you good vibes
