Re: best movies for visuals... [Re: Tao]

Recently I saw two movies while trippin;

-Underworld, I liked it while trippin, but it made it seem 2x longer then it really was.. I got intense visuals all throughout the movie and I couldn't stop laughing when I saw that king vampire dude whose hella fuckin ugly and makes all those hella funny noises..I recomend this movie for trippin..

-The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, I was dumb and it was my bday. I injested a 1/8 of dried cubes and I wanted to scare the shit out of me. I don't know why I did, but at the time I thought it would be fun. It turned out to be a fun trip, but the movie was so intense and out there that at one point I almost wanted to leave because the shrooms made it 10x more scarier and I NEVER get scared at the movies..I DONT recomend this movie for trippin..

Overall I LOVE going to the movie theaters while shroomin for some reason.. It just makes the trip more fun to watch a movie and hella sit back while ur coming up/peaking in a huge dark room with lots of lights, sound, and colors! heh

i say the best thing to do if your gonna stare at a box, is to put on your most favorite tunes, turn on your tv and mute it...youd be suprised how well things match up w/ music...especially with cartoons. as for movies...super troopers, because its lighthearted and will keep you laughing...keeps your mind away from the fear.

staring at the tv is not as visually stimulating as
you may think.

it's actually rather boring.

I used to use the tv as a way of mitigating an
otherwise overwhelming experience.

Three's Company can really help bring you
back down to earth when things become too
overwhelming.

I had a strange experence when i was tripping last night, i was playing Halcyon by orbital while watching info-mercials, i saw how pathetic we are (as consumers).. it was deep

I did the same thing during my first trip (which happened to be sunday). I had some trance on and the TV was on mute. Each commercial I saw was so insanely stupid. Except for one which I found funny while sober, became incredibly funny while tripping. Mushrooms are good.

I haven't seen it on drugs but I've seen it before.

I recall thinking it resembled a MESCALINE trip over a mushroom experience, heh  But then again, I wasn't into mushrooms yet when I saw it

By the way, you mentioning that one simpson's episode reminded me of this ONE PART IN BEAVIS AND BUTTHEAD DO AMERICA where BEAVIS EATS PEYOTE and then starts MAJORLY tripping out. Artist Mike Judge had a fucking field-day with this portion of the movie..

Anybody seen that movie? I wouldn't want to watch the whole thing on drugs but maybe just that one part would be fuckin great, and maybe towards the end where Beavis is freaking out about how he's cornholio

edit: PS. All the slow-mo and rotation shit in THE MATRIX MOVIES is quite impressive.

I've never found watching films to be too special on shrooms. I prefer being out in nature unless it's a very emotional film that can help put me in touch with my emotions.

Ketamine is in another league for watching film - literally takes you inside the film completly.

on a nice clear night, eat some mushrooms, bundle up real good, and lay out in a field far from any sources of pollution or light.

this will be 100x better than watching any movie.

for a movie suggestion though: yellow submarine. i've never watched films on mushrooms but this is one hell of a psychedelic movie.

I've actually made a mix of just all the tightest visual's and special effects from a multiple of movies. The things like 3 hours long now and I just keep adding more footage as it comes to hand. I have scences from Fantasia, starship troopers (the battle scenes)..Yellow Submarine...creatures from The ABYSS!!....Worm Holes from multiple movies (stargate, the cell etc...) A shit load of scenes from Sci-Fi movies like Et,Lord of the Rings ID4,starwars and CLose encounters..Man that movie has TIGHT spaceships. I have all the visuals from that trippy Simpsons episode when he eats the psychadelic chili pepper at the cookoff. Some scenes from the Minds eye collection too. I've pretty much just cut out all the garbage and made a collection of what I think is the best visiuals for tripping. No people talking or anything...just the good stuff and I play music over it.
I suggest it if you find the time to put it together.

Orizon, that sounds like something I just might try. If I know I'm in for the night or I just don't feel like going anywhere, I like to watch trippy movies and animations. Yes Yellow Submarine is always fun. I think we all love it because it's really not a movie at all but a wild musical adventure. I love Fantasia 2000 too. Animatrix was pretty good. Spirited Away, Princess Mononoke, The Dark Crystal, The Hobbit, Lord of The Rings Animated, Alice in Wonderland, these were all good. Ultimately, anything Disney is going to be interesting too. Pixar productions are usually really good. Fear and Loathing is wild. The Wall is awesome. I love psychological thrillers and independent films. All the Microcosmos were very stimulating. There are so many more I can't think of. I never get through a whole movie while tripping or at least I'm never in front of the TV very long before I'm up moving around, getting into something. Mostly for tripping you'd probably enjoy just muting the film and putting on some mellow music.

Hey Seuss I remember the mind's eye. There are two more, one called "beyond the minds eye" and I can't remember the third. These are all great movies to trip on. No plot to follow, just trippy visuals
Another one I saw the first time when I had taken acid was "Naked Lunch". I actually rewound the tape and watched it again because I couldn't believe how bizarre it was.
