Addicting visual aesthetics, Panellus Stipticus
    #20252430 - 07/10/14 10:50 AM (10 years, 6 months ago)

Is it possible to colonize and fruit Panellus Stipticus to grow along side the cubes? I've been thinking of adding something like pic related

I just don't know if it'll be detrimental to the growing process of my cubes

Well first off it looks like that strain in your picture grows on wood.  A substrate cubes don't like.  Which leads me to think fruiting temps and conditions may be different between the two.  So growing them alongside each other in the same FC seems highly unlikely to me.

But I definitely don't consider myself snd expert.

^what he said

You can grow them on a PF cake modified with sawdust instead of BRF I suppose.

You could have sawdust blocks in the same greenhouse I guess. But Panellus grow in the fall so they like it way colder. But they have been reported in the spring before and have been found in warm places like North Africa. I am sure somewhere out there there is a strain that likes it warm enough to grow in the lowest temps cubes could handle. Its up to you to find it!
