psilocybe subaeruginosa mycelium surfacing.. help please

Hi guys, I have a few tubs that I was hoping to have ready to fruit next season and at that point in time I was going to ask the questions but here is my dilemma if thats what you want to call it haha.
Ok so out of the 5 tubs I have 1 is taking off extremely well I have a 5 fish bins with holes drilled for drainage and in them I have a layer of broken up pinecones to promote drainage then course mulch followed by colonized wood chip and a layer of fine mulch. Sounds good so far right? I then got some black plastic layer sheet and cut to fit each bin with a few holes in it and then proceeded with a spray set up and turned it on a couple hours every two days or so.
Ok so my dilemma is, and quite exciting I have the top layer of mulch on one tub fully colonizing to the point I have exposed mycelium if it weren't covered with the plastic... so what I want to know is what to do at this stage as if I treat this situation carefully I may even have fruits this season.
I need some advise now... do I cover with a shallow layer of chip or do I put a casing layer such as twigs and leaves or do I leave it bare and remove the plastic to expose the mycelium to the big bad world?
I'd really like some experience to shine on my project guys. All advise welcome sorry that I have no pics at this stage but im on my phone so I need to convert the file type to be able to upload.
Cheers

Mate, if the mycelium is growing gangbusters as it is then leave it. Do not move anything, do not change anything. Tune in and let it do what it is programmed to do.

The only thing I might add, and I have not tried this myself yet, sphagnum moss over the top in an inch or 2 layer could in theory be the perfect casing layer to keep it all moist underneath over the summer.

I really feel this is ready to fruit now but I feel like if I take off the plastic layer sheet its like exposing an open wound to infection. Would covering in leaves or something be a good idea?

Thanks for that, I have slightly disturbed the substrate and covered with sphagnum moss. Hopefully it will retain moisture and still let the mushrooms grow through
