A caterpillar I caught eating cube pins..can anyone help?

Hello everyone, Ok people, here is the deal.. There were some cubes growing outside and i noticed that something rimmed to be eating the pins. At first i thought something just nocked one over but i finally caught the culprit in the act hollowing out a large pin. Also when it was time for harvest i found another of the same exact species of caterpillar munching on the bottom of a full grown cube. I have a picture of the destructive little bastard in my photo gallery as i cannot for the life of me actually get a picture uploaded onto my actual posts, so if anyone would care to take a look at the picture it is in ky gallery and its the only picture of a bug on my hand. I was informed that it isn't anyone's Job to go look at my pictures and I completely understand that, so if you have a big problem taking an extra moment to help me out...then don't. If anyone does i thank then profusely in advance. I have read online that caterpillars do not eat mushrooms, that they cannot digest them, and all i can say is i suppose someone forgot to tell these little buggars. No this is not a mistake i will say just in case, i caught them IN THE ACT two times...

If the pic you are talking about is the one you are holding in your hand, it doesnt look like a caterpillar to me, more related to the ground grubs that we have in the south (not exactly like them, but ,more like em than a caterpillar). Not really sure what to do to get em gone. My advice for the moment would be to keep picking them off as you find them and maybe try a natural deterrant for bugs like a garlic spray. I know im not much help here but I will get back with ya if I can figure something else out

'Which road do I take?' she asked.
'Where do you want to go?' was his response.
'I don't know', Alice answered.
'Then', said the cat, 'it doesn't matter.'

I wonder why your reading source says they can't digest mushrooms (I'm not saying it's right or wrong). seems like it would have carbs/sugars like anything else.
and humans can't digest cellulose in plants.. but we still eat that shit

Yeah man I hear ya but it was a small patch...not capable of taking on a caterpillar attack..if it was a big patch i wouldn't care im talkin there were only 10 pins total four of which got eaten.

Last week I took a spent tray and broke it up, put it in the ground with some leached horse poo and a little straw mixed in, I checked yesterday by just digging a small hole into it and the myc. went totally apeshit on the poo...so that said well see what happens
