Opening a bacteria contaminated petri dish in front of a flow hood?
    #20241910 - 07/08/14 12:31 PM (10 years, 6 months ago)

I know you cannot open a petri dish that is contaminated with mold in front of a flow hood. It will blow mold spores in onto your grow space.

Does this also apply to bacteria contaminated plates?

ehh it's ok as long as

it's the plate farthest from the filter so it cannot blow onto any clean plates

and it's the last plate handled, after all the clean ones are done & parafilmed

There'd be far more bacteria blowing off your skin than from a contaminated petri.
