About how long do Amazonians take to pin?
    #20240656 - 07/08/14 03:34 AM (10 years, 6 months ago)

I just mixed my bird seed spawn with coir and vermiculite for my sub.
I use a 1:2 ratio. How long from the day of spawning the tub to pinning?
Ball park is fine, but my tubs have been taking 3-5 weeks!

On average the same as every other cube.

Bodhisattva, I don't know how long they all take. That's why I'm asking.

Could be anywhere from 5-15 days for the tub to fully colonize, then once you start fruiting, it could take another week or 2 to start pinning.....it really all depends on the genetics you have, and the amount of fresh air the tub is getting.

:whathesaid: There's no way of really telling considering all the variables present including genetics from MS (multispore) which is most likely the route you're going.

Not to sound like a noob, but isn't fruiting what happens after pinning? Like a flush is fruiting. How can fruiting happen before pinning?

Fruiting is the act of the substrate producing fruits.

Main pinning triggers are full colonization, FAE, and evaporation off the substrate.

We initiate fruiting by giving the substrate lots of constant fresh air once fully colonized, which causes evaporation, and then pinning happens.

Pinning sometimes happens before we initiate fruiting, due to full colonization....and obviously being ready to fruit.
