Cobweb or wet mycelium?
    #20161987 - 06/20/14 11:43 PM (10 years, 6 months ago)

http:/http:/These are rye sub trays cased in coir and verm, the fully colonized tray is an experiment in adding extra verm.

These are what the casings look like 6 days after putting them into the fruiting chamber. Im using the rye bitches rye Magash tek and opted to fruit them on the first signs of pinning through the casing, no patching , in the went, grew beautifully for 1 day then for 5 days it was 100% humidity and the white fluffy mycelium that was slowing crawling all over the casing accumulated water droplets, caught them exactly like a spider web. I tried to mop them up but i didnt want to damage pins so i let them dry out by dropping the humidity to 90%.
Now it doesnt look white. It looks gray, damp and rotten. I understand this is a charteristic of cobweb mold. Whats your opinion based on my pictures? Any suggestions on how to help what mycelium is there fruit? Is there any way to fight cobweb i.e. h202, how much do i spray, wouldnt spraying it make it wetter and therefor more subseptibal to rotting?

The third picture at the top looks healthy and normal, the rest not so much. In person, do all of your casings look like picture 3?

How do they smell? Does tray 3 smell different than the rest?

The one that has me mostly worries is the 4th picture.
