Too good to be true - all 3 agar contamed (update)

Well I was all excited to take 3 transfers from my 3 types of myc on agar today to clean them up and I see that they all contamed. They look pretty good until today I notice it. I managed to get either two or three different types of contams too.
Oh well more time to clean up my sterile technique I suppose. At least one, possibly two were wild prints.
One was a very white spot, but it looked too perfect and not whispy enough for pan myc so I did have my suspicions on that on. Today it turned yellow.
So is it better to transfer early on before these contaminates sporulate? I think that is what gave them their color which is why I didn't see them.
I knew it was too good to be true I shouldn't have gotten so excited.
I think I should stick with growing salvia instead

Did you get any clean mushie myc growth at all?? If so and..
Assuming you have more agar and dishes I'd say cut the best looking wedges and place them in new dishes. Keep isolating it and it will clean up. Unless your contams are from you're instruments (inoculation loop, dirty petri dishes, etc.)
Im no expert so wait for one of the pros to comment but I'd say dont give up!!

Oh I thought that if they were contained I had to start over because it would spread the spores around my workplace when I opened the agar up?

if your able to get a clean spot to transfer from I'd say go for it, and just keep isolating

I feel like pics would help a little. Is there any clean rhizomorphic mycelium at all or??

There definitely is on all three. The one has some very fluffy black mold I'm not sure if I should open that one. I could add pics tomorrow.

If you smell the scalpel just after you make the transfer it can give you an idea of what you just transferred.

Well I made the transfers. I didn't have a scalpel so I used a shitty pocket knife. I couldn't get it red hot. I did wipe iso on it and then flame it though. It left black spots where I transferred. I couldn't see the myc on the knife I wonder if I should have taken large pieces. I know about the size of a grain of rice or smaller is best but I just couldn't see it. That was probably a mistake. I kept the jars just in case.
My sterile technique was a lot better I felt like this time. It got very hot wearing the mask though.
Do you guys think I will be okay? I didn't want to take large pieces because of the contams that were already in there.
I think I took way to small of pieces considering I couldn't even see them. Guess I will find out but it would be nice to have some sort of idea. Thanks.

You really need a scalpel man, or an xacto knife which is what I use mostly...
I made is thing before I had a torch to get my scalpel super hot..heating with an alcohol lamp for too long made the handle too hot, with a torch it's just a hot second and the whole blades red.
You just need something thin and kinda sharp, the knife blade is probably too thick and only the very tip is most likely getting sterilized and that makes things dangerous.

Yeah I couldn't find a scalpel and I already had everything set up. I thought the blade was thin enough to get red. Anyways I was mostly concerned with getting enough myc on there. Do you think I got enough or should I just start over instead of wasting time waiting for nothing to grow when I could do another transfer from the first petris or start from spores again.

Well there is only myc on one. But I don't see contams on any of the plates. Guess I will start from spores again for the others. RR said to boil the contamed jars for 30 mins but I am wondering if I can boil them when I used plastic lids? They are the ones from walmart has anyone done this before? Did a search and came up with nothing.
Thanks.
