contam or bruising or what?
    #2023894 - 10/19/03 11:34 PM (13 years, 1 month ago)

hey everybody, i would really appreciate some help or advice.
Ive got six 100% colonized 1/2 pint pf jars of puerto ricans. In the last few days, ive noticed some small green dots, about the size of a pinhead in several of the jars. no more than 4 dots in each jar. Just wondering if this could be bruising, as they do get banged around a bit, or if it is a contam, is it a small enough amount that the mycelium can fight it off? by the way, there is no odor. thanks alot.

Green dots don't sound good :[
and it doesnt sound like bruising from here, best
to isulate the ones showing gren dots, and monitor there
growth, good luck.

thanks a lot, do you think that with such a small amount of contam they could still produce viable fruits?

You can try saving those. Cut the infected areas with a sterile knife, dunk in some h2o:h2o2 solution for 12 hrs, crumble all infected cakes to see if anything is growing on the inside and case.
