case a casing?
    #2023827 - 10/19/03 11:01 PM (13 years, 6 days ago)

I cant get my bulk boxes to pin and not only that, I cant get the myc to stop growing and it has now taken over about 60% of the casing. Temps were dropped to 70 from 84, it's in ambient light 12 hrs a day, air exchanges are plenty and humidity is fine. it's a straw/dung cased with coir/verm and its been seven days since I started trying to pin. Anyone have any ideas? I cant figure it out. Anyways, my question: would it be alright if I put it back in spawn run conditions and then recased again over top of the casing that's already on it? I will then leave the boxes outside overnite one night cause they're too big for the fridge and it gets to about 5*C here overnight right now.

Sounds like you gotta cold shock that bad boy. Slow down the mycelium, encourage it to pin. Maybe temperature cycling is the answer; http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat...rt=all&vc=1

Yah, i think so too... but what should i do about the over colonization. It isn't overlayed. Should I put another casing layer on it?
