POLL: Did I Mess Up 10 One Pound Rye Berry Bags?

I knocked up ten whole one pound rye berry bags with 20cc of liquid culture each last Wednesday. Tomorrow morning is my first chance to take a look at them since Thursday morning. Do you think I messed them up? I'll report the results back here tomorrow.

if one pound is close to one qt, then probably. even when i do 5 qt grain bags, i only use 7-8 cc's of liquid culture. i make it with agar (still risky) and if ur LC was made from spore, its even more risky. even assuming ur LC is clean, its a lot of liquid in each bag. if u received these as pre sterilized bags, that adds another variable. u don't know how long the vendor stored them, how long they were sterilized for, or what may have happened in shipping. hair line tears in bags can almost be invisible. hope it works out for you tho dude! 10 bags is a lot!

My one quart spawn jars weigh 2 lbs. The jar itself is 1 lb. and the rye (a solid 3/4+ of the jar's capacity) is 1 lb.

I just clicked "yes" as soon as I saw him mention using LC. Was there more to the OP?

Haha! All the doubters can rest assured that these mushies are tough! All but one of the ten bags are showing growth. I haven't been able to check on them since thursday but now I'm pleased.
Got twelve mature picks from my fruiting cakes, my first harvest! And six fully consolidated grain bags from last time. Used two of them to spawn with five pounds of hpoo/coir/gypsum sub in my first mono. Will be doing another mono tomorrow. At this rate, I should be flush with flushes for a while to come. Heavily consolidated cake is dunked right now, all its primordia about to become fruits. Life is good.

As a general rule of thumb, if you have to ask if your LC-inoculated substrates are okay, you didn't know enough at the time of inoculation to make sure they were okay. In your case, since you didn't specify that it was an agar- or grain-inoculated LC, that means you made it with a commercial syringe and it's almost definitely fucked. Pics?

I get why a lot of you are saying I was dumb for doing this. The thing is: this VERY site said to use 140cc per bag in the FAQ. Someone should change that.
Also: I've done four jars and eight bags prior to this off the same LC and it's going great. The old school cultivators who say "LC? You're fucked," tend not to look so trustworthy when they hate on LC so much. Because even total noobs like myself can get LC to work fine. I think there is an assumption that just because that's not what you do, it can't work.
Well, it's working so far.
I might get pics later, but you obviously didn't read far enough down in the thread to the point where I said that it's growing nicely after all.
I'm kind of hesitant to post pics of this process.

dude there is so much bull shit misinformation on these forums.. you gotta sort through things pretty thoroughly, not saying you didn't or anything.
I would go so far as to say there is a lot more wrong/outdated info on here than there is correct info. And I tend to not read too much into threads that are over 5 years old.. or at least take the information with a grain of salt.

So half of these bags were 30% colonized today so I broke them up. One shows tiny little white fans in a few places. The rest are in between. Just made another mono and birthed another cake.

We have a sticky at the top of the cultivation forum with the express purpose of helping us clean up some of that outdated old stuff. If you could find the place that told you that and link it here, I'd be much obliged.
P.S. If you knew how many people I've come across who took that same gloating stance for the same reason and then come back to confess their spawn is all completely fucked, you'd be more than a little embarrassed. I'm neither old school nor anti-LC. I hold that multispore LC is a terrible idea and I'm willing to put actual money on the line when it comes to it: twenty bucks says your spawn is fucked.
I'm not mean and I'm not cranky or a bully. I'm taking the time to tell you this because I care about your grow and the grows of the literal thousands of people who will eventually read this thread, and it's important that everyone understands that I've been down this road before both personally and vicariously, as have all the other posters in here, and together we're telling you this method is no good. Please read around the current cultivation forum a little bit and come to understand that none of us are negative people, and that we love to see successful grows and heap praises and encouragement on newbs who are using methods that have decent success rates.
Welcome to the shroomery. Your spawn is fucked.

I have used presterlized bags 2 times. Both times they dried out and were shit! Plus your are using a LC. I really hope it works out for you bro.

I tried MS LC a couple times and it didnt live up to the hype. It starting growing fast but all in all took the same time to colonize as the MS jars I knocked up the same day.
Do people like it because they extend their spores? I think if you take ten big spore prints you'll be set on spores for a while..
This said Ive never had LC contaminate anything yet, once it just didnt grow.

one spore print + 2-3 slants, ur good to go for a while man. u don't necessarily need to slant isolates...i slant MS growth just in case my spores die (only happened twice, but b/c of that, i started slanting stuff/prints i haven't grown yet)
