Hunting mushrooms with dogs...
    #2022920 - 10/19/03 03:09 PM (20 years, 5 months ago)

I have no idea if this is possible (mainly why I am posting), but would it be possible to train a dog to sniff out Psilocybe mushrooms? Would it be able to tell them apart from regular ones?

I don't own a dog and don't think I ever will but just thought it would be an interesting way of finding mushrooms, follow your dog's nose!

So, anyone ever tried this or know if it's possible?

And in case someone gets the impression somehow I feed dogs magic mushrooms or something stupid...I don't. This is just hypothetical.

Hmmm just thought, do the police have dogs trained for shrooms? Can they tell the difference between active ones and edibles?

I've read they use dogs to find, truffles..

And as far as I know dog's are not trained to find mushrooms.

If a dog can be trained to find a bear galblater under three pounds of coffie, he can find the right shroom...
