A growers cycle.

I was just wondering how you serious growers keep the mushroom cycle going. Once you get your mushrooms in the fruiting stage, do you start more jars? Does anyone have a certain technique with timing the shrooms growth and have the next set of jars colonized and ready to go by the time the last flush is harvest? Do any growers have multiple fruiting chambers?

When I use the name "I", I'm talking about my friend of a friend named "Ivan".

if you inoculate a new batch of jars every 2-3 weeks, and make prints from each crop to make the syringes, you will always have fruiting shrooms, and never need to buy spores again until you want a new variety to try your hand on.

i used to have 2 tubs, one with perlite at 100% for pinning, and another without (with casings) for cropping. but it's easier just to leave the perlite out unless you are a cake grower: casings get by on their own humidity, and any moving around is a bad idea. still 2 tubs makes for a nice safety zone in case you get a case of green, so you can clean it all out and isolate the dodgy ones from the goodlooking ones.

good luck with your fun new hobby  :heartpump:

so shirley, you think well-misted casings in an empty rubbermaid will pin without problems? any environmental changes when cropping?
