It actually shot up to 90 twice that I know of, but it was really hot on those days.
I could put an AC in my room.
What temperature should I aim for?

85 for part of the day is fine. I wouldn't leave them in those temps for the whole 24 hour cycle though. Warming upi during the day and cooling off at night is natural.

Hey man, wishing ya good vibes for your first grow! Just got done with my first myself and it was definately a learning experience. Mine was a wild ms from some fungi found locally. Nothing like harvesting your first fruits you nurtured yourself! Im eager to see your results. And btw, I think it took a little less than a week for me to see myc forming

Thanks for the good vibes! My first jar out of 6 blew up over night (which is surprising as my room temp dropped to 60 last night... oops!)
Here are the pics:

It IS mycelium, right? XD

I marked the jar after I took the pictures and it's grown a couple millimeters past the markings already... Oh man, this is sooooo cool.
Oh yeah, and it's definitely mycelium.

Not that this is the OP's picture, but why are your cakes on a bed of vermiculite instead of perlite?

Old pic. That was actually a smaller tub within a larger one, there is perlite in the larger tub. The verm was there as a sort of bottom casing layer/water reservoir. After advice from cronic I got rid of it and the cakes are now on foil on the perlite. Oddly, I seem to have had better FAE when I had the tub there, which makes no sense to me.

Damn. I was hoping to find more growth today, but it hasn't done much and still nothing else on the other jars.

The one from the other day seems to be doing great, and two other jars have areas on them that look like more mycelium growth! The dark spots are from a marker I used to mark the spots and they didn't fully wipe off.

I believe that can also be caused by humidity being very high, which may or may not correspond with decreased fae.

Will do.
I peaked at them without disturbing them this morning and one is almost completely snow white on one side.

Does that growth seem to be spreading away from the inoculation point? I ask because I'm pretty sure cube mycelia grow directionally and I can't tell from your pictures if growth is directional.
Maybe someone else can confirm this?

It most definitely is spreading away from the inoculation point. I've looked at it closely and I can see the little white "hairs".
