You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity by legislating the wealthy out of prosperity. What one person receives without working for another person must work for without receiving. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for that my dear friend is the beginning of the end of any nation. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it. ~ Adrian Rogers

Very much. Odd thing is, I don't like them cooked.

Without science it is just speculation.

You enjoy raw potato?
According to this (nutcase) page raw potato is highly toxic. I'm inclined not to believe him, but I really don't enjoy raw potato.

If they are at all toxic, I would be a dead man by now. I do peel them first, but I can go through a 20 pound bag of raw potatos like a child goes through a bag of chocolate candy.

This is partially true.

There's a chemical in OLD potatoes, which I believe can be partially denatured in cooking. When your potato turns green, or black on the inside, that's the chemicals effect. I can't remember the name, I am fairly sure, there are a decent amount of poor in history who died. Especially in Ireland, where potatoes were embraced. My facts may be wrong though.

Potatoes started as a food for poor people, due to the fact that royalty and the higher tiers of classes were afraid of them, due to the toxicity of old specimens as well as the relationship to the nightshade family, they were given and propogated by many poor people.

So no, not likely that any raw potato would kill anyone. Due to the modern marvels of transportation and storage, but if it were 300 years ago, might be a different story. Just don't eat black or green potatoes.

If the potato has started to turn green under the skin, that's the beginnings of it, but it's not a worry peel it away if you care.

By the way, potatoes are a member of the nightshade family, with many lovely members such as belladonna  so it shouldn't be THAT hard to believe.

Very interesting... I remember somebody warning me once about the green ones, but I have never seen any that are green or black on the inside.
