How long has someone kept the same inoculation going? 3 months? 69 jars? 96?

g2g is awsome.
I took 8 jars and turned them into over 100 before!

I've probably done 4 after the initial inoculation with not noticeable ill effects.

Yes!
I used rye for my quart jars. I had a whole bookshelf filled with jars.

Your good man,I have WBS masters now that get transfered to Rye. I ran out of Rye and had to wait on the Azure truck when I made them.

I believe I read somewhere you don't want to transfer past 9 or 10. Senescence happens eventually.

Either way you'll still have more jars than you'll ever need at any given time. Turn 1 into 10..10 into 100..100 into 1,000 etc..Idk that's more spawn than I'd ever need at one given time.

Usually by the 3rd generation a culture begins to degrade and you'll see lower yeilds, more aborts and its worth a mention; more contams in the bulk. Of course, this all depends on if the culture in question started out from ms or was a isolate.

No, not longer.
Anything after the 3rd generation is at risk, even if it was a isolated culture, multispore is to shifty to tell.
I've gotten as far as six generations with multispore before the genetics failed to produce mature fruit bodies..... Some people claim to have gone as many as 8.

So I have 8 jars that are from a syringe. I have not done g2g yet. So let's say I transfer jar#1 to ten jars I do this for three generations. I do the same for jar#2. So now I have these two sets of jars that are past their prime. If I mixed both into a new jar could I start the process over again?

ok welll lets say you use one jar to g2g to 10 more, then use those ten to do a hundrend, that hundred would beyour thrd set, use those for a thousand and your pushing ti, remember this is one of 8 jars you started with, had you g2g'd with all 8 you could have almost 10 000 jars and still have some vigor to them

No. They'd still be old cells that had multiplied, mixing them back together would not rejuvinate them.

not worth it, i see this mistake often when people decide to clone store bought mushrooms. they think it's a quick way to get great genetics but in reality it's an old culture that will never produce yields worth a shit as it's been through five rounds of g2g and spawned at 1:10 ratios

well most people who would go that far would be using a tested isolate and not spores in which case you wanna go back to the original culture
