Morning Glory ID
    #2021220 - 10/18/03 07:16 PM (20 years, 5 months ago)

I found these growing on a fence close to my house. I'm fairly sure they're morning glories (99%), but I'd like a positive ID. Here's some pics:

I know the pictures are kind of fuzzy, but my webcam just really sucks. These were cut off the the vine pretty late in the even, right before the sun went down and most of the flowers had already closed. They looked really blue during the day, although it was at a distance, but they looked more violet at this point. Can anyone ID them for sure? I mean I am almost completely certain, but I figured sense I've never seen them in the wild before I'd get a second opinion.

Peace and Much Love

they are morning glories..now whether they contain (or the seeds i should say) LSA im not sure.  they dont appear to be heavenly blues, but the pics are a little dark.  i have noticed that after some of my "heavenly blue" morning glories started dieing they did get a purpleish tint to them.

them is some pretty plants

Good to hear...that's really what I figured. They were really blue during the day, I think the purpling is either because they were closing for the night or because they were cut off the vine, maybe both.. anyway thanks for the ID, anyone know when these things will start putting off seed pods? I didn't get a good look during the day, but I know there were still plenty of flowers on there, I don't know if there were any seed pods on them or not.

It's a pretty big vine...covers a large portion of a chainlink fence behind a rent-a-car place and it's even climbed most of the way up a telephone pole that touches the fence and on the wires. There's I don't know how many flowers on that vine...a couple hundred at least. What do the seed pods generally look like? I've yet to find a picture of a seed pod online, but I don't think there's any on the vine yet, I went and took a closer look at the vine today and there were a lot of flowers but I didn't see anythign that resembled a pod...
