Pan cyan myc
    #20207356 - 06/30/14 11:35 AM (10 years, 6 months ago)

Greetings people,

Somebody send me a piece of tar on a foil and told me its a portion of a pan cyan print. I did not believe it. But I gave it a try by nocing to white millet and it colonised. I spawned it to untreated cow dung verm mix. The myc turned really aggresive in manure and the below pics are of 2nd day. Can anyone tell me if this is really pan or cubie myc. Or cobweb mold? It looks really whispy.

73% sure it's myc

Can you see any primordia?

73%? Great number. I can't see any primordia. Its just second day after spawning. It smells nothing like cubies. Its earthy or woody. I cant explain it sorry. Certainly not fruity.

No pics of the inoculated jars huh?

Pan cyan myc is kinda wispy, yet aggressive. From what I've noticed on dishes, Havnt got to the grain stage.

No man I couldnt take a pic. I basically nocced the grains and forgot about it. I checked it after 5 weeks it was colonised and I tried to shake it and the jar fell down and broke but the spawn cake was intact. I immediately made a cow manure and ver mix and spawned it. This is all I have now. I will upload a better pic in day light.  Hope that would help you guys help me?

2 days is crazy and makes me think that is something else growing on top of smaller patches of mycelium (brighter white) underneath the fuzzy cobwebby layer..

Thanks guys. Im feeling relaxed now. Haha. Would you recommend keeping this uncased for another week? Im going out of station till next monday. Will that do any harm? Also is it okay to case it with feild capacity verm alone? That worked for cubies perfectly. Any thoughts?

I would case it now. And I would also use 50/50+ (Peatmoss/Verm)

Thanks Hyphai. I would love to but I can't as I wont be there to mist and fan if I case now. Will it harm if I keep it incubated for another week? I read somewhere the more you incubate  more potent the crop will turn out. Not sure though. Any thoughts about negatives of keeping fully colonised pan cyan cakes an extra week?

If you're going to keep it colonized for another week then keep the tray somewhere cool so that it doesn't over heat.

Oh okay. Thanks man. Now it is kept at room temp, by the way room temp here is 31C. If I keep inside a closet will it be okay as I assume it will be a bit more cooler than ouside?

I wouldn't over consolidate.
There was a thread kicking around here about over colonization equals greater potency, but the results are inconclusive.

Oh man I can't case for a couple of days more! What are these white thick lumps on top of the mycelium? What does it mean? Mycelium trying to say it's ready to fruit? :mushroom2:
