Agar to grain

After failing to grow anything on grains but contams, i have turned to agar to sort my shit out. i have 5 rye berry jars growing mycelium, and 3 are battling gray mold of some sort. so, i took some grains from the best looking jar and put them on 4 agar plates. 6 days later i took 2 samples of leading sectors from each of the 4 plates, so now i have 8 plates that will hopefully be growing clean cultures in the next few days.
my question is: assuming all 8 plates grow out looking healthy, should i aim to only use 1 plate for each grow, or just put all the healthy mycelium (8 plates to 8 qts of grain, 1 whole plate into each jar)to grains and sort out genetics after fruiting? should it be my goal to "test" out each plate in it's own grow, or should i just put whatever clean myc i have into a bulk grow and try to clone genetics from that point on?
i keep thinking about PussyFart's 10 PE isolates and how several didn't fruit at all...i basically need to grow some dang fruits and not just keep failing at bulk..its frustrating. advice?

If you have isolated then keep them isolated and save the good performers. But from the sounds of things it might all still be multiple genetics in play so it wouldn't really matter if you mixed them.

I usually divide a single plate up in to however many jars I have. My PC holds 7 jars, so I usually divide a plate up in to 7 pieces.

Although the ideal would be 8 separate grows, each with the limited genetics you have in each of your 8 jars, to test out what you have. After that you can clone from the best producer and toss out your old plates.

yea they're most likely not isolates, but each plate was started with 1 piece of grain (one had like 4 grains though)...so the genetics can't be nearly as expansive as with the MS i started the grain jars with.
i might as well just put in the extra work and inventory management to test each one out. i'm always trying to keep it lazy, i guess agar kinda requires work ethic though
edit: so if you did 7 jars with each plate, should i try to leave a wedge on the original plate to conserve the genetics to transfer to new plates? or do you just use the entire plate and wait for fruits to take pins or biopsy instead?

if it was me. I would take the extra time and get Iso's. It will greatly help down the road when you know what you will get everytime from that iso.
I would aim for like 7 different ones. Each i would make a transfer to the jar. Then one to another plate. Then G2G each of those 7 masters to 6 or 7 more jars. (could save one at this point for another G2G from your favorite performer) so in the end youll get 7 tubs, have a master jar ready of the best performer for G2G, and a master slant of your tested Iso.
Recently, i was getting bored of just doing agar. So i made a few more transfers and even tho its MS still, ill have some projects going plus i still have my iso work going.
