Just wanted to make a post for Australian mushroom foragers about Fungimap.org.
For those of you who are not aware of Fungimap they are a non for profit organization located in Victoria that help map out Australian fungi species with the help of citizen scientists such as you or I. You can submit specimens you have found out in the field to their website with some basic information and some photos attach that they than add to the Atlas of Living Australia database for all to see.
They also sell a great field guild that primarily focuses on macro fungi of Australia with all profits going towards funding the organization. It is a great way to maintain fungi biodiversity and also help further research into the realm of fungus. Check out there website at > www.fungimap.org.au
Or like them on Facebook at > https://www.facebook.com/fungimap?ref=hl

+1 for Fungimap. Very useful resource, and gets more useful the more data people upload.

Please don't saturate this resource with endless subaeruginosa sightings.

Psilocybe subaeruginosa is a fungimap target species, meaning observational data is actively sought. The hunters who are only interested in active species are probably not the ones who will contribute to fungimap. Those who have a broader interest in the fungal world are more likely to contribute (and have more valuable contributions).

I was surprised to learn that it is indeed a target species.

Subs are actually not a target species though I think they would still take the submission as there is plenty of records of them on ALAS where the records end up.
But yeh, make sure to submit a wide variety of fungi specimens if you are going to contribute, Im sure everyone comes across more than just subs when out in the field.

Yeah they are a target species meaning they provide an excellent resource for trippers wanting to find a new patch presuming they give locational data like the uni of qld website. ignore my previous post
