Sclerotium in Spawn Bags
    #2020565 - 10/18/03 01:20 PM (21 years, 3 months ago)

Is there a point of dimishing returns when growing sclerotium in spawn bags? For instance, would you get a higher efficiancy using five 2lb bags over two 5lb bags? What is the optimum amount of substrate?

I think there might be. I found in limited tests that small jars yielded more per volume of spawn than did large bags.

That doesn't directly relate to your question which is large bags vs. larger bags. Couldn't be a matter of glass interface, surface area to volume ratio, larger mycelial mass. I'm not sure, perhaps somebody has more specifics, but if not, at least I tried!

PM me with any cultivation questions.

I just looked at my profile and realized I had a website at one point in time on geocities, it's not there anymore and I have no idea what I had on it. Anybody remember my website from several years aga? PM if so please.

i remember somebody recommending to flatten out the bags so there is more surface area. mine didnt penetrate to the middle of my 2kg rice bags. i also mixed up one bag a few times to ensure it penetrated to the middle, resulted in many small stones with low potency
