speakers are nice because you don't have those damn wires getting caught on stuff or anything like that, and you can move around better without headphones plugged into anything

I prefer headphones because if and when the music gets to be too much of an interference I can just take the headphones out and remain blasted to my bed as the experience rips through me.

Headphones make me feel trapped in my head. Speakers make the room have an ambience too it that makes me feel free.

I love both, but sometimes nothing beats listening to an album through headphones. You hear everything, and in my mind, it's how the album is intended to sound. I hear things through headphones I'd never hear without them. Sometimes though, I agree with doobie dude, they can feel very constricting.

I agree, headphones after awhile just fuck up my equilibrium for some reason. Maybe because I'm blasting them, especially if I'm tripping.

speakers maxed out volume and all the subwoofers you can get. Every bassdrumhit will rip your body apart. You need the phsysical vibration you can only get from real speakers.

Never actually tried headphones. When I get more liquid I'm gonna get a new pair and try this.

I've used both and my vote is for speakers.
Speakers create a place for me to focus on where the music is coming from and had led to cool visuals of sound vibration moving through the air.
Headphones give a more complex sound, but I tend to forget they're on and try to walk around only to have the headphones ripped off my head. The wire is annoying.

Tried both. Prefer quality headphones with long wires smashed on the floor.

I prefer speakers at a reasonable volume so as to not attract any unwanted attention or complaints. Headphones and earplugs make me paranoid that there are sounds in the environment that I should be hearing that might provide me with a warning that someone is coming. I ONLY use earplugs or headphones when I need music in the wee hours of the night/morning (like 2 - 3am) when there is zero chance of anyone surprising me with a visit.
