Still didn't get enough of the wet stuff by me but found a couple to make it worth the 2 1/2hrs in heat. Two small dryer cubes and one bigger one I had to leave filled with bugs. Then also few copes "correct me if I'm wrong" that made me smile

This thread is getting way off track... the past few pages are filled with posts that outright violate the forum rules & guidelines as well as users getting carried away with requests for ID's and downright misinformation."Official" threads like these are for photos, relevant discussion, interesting stories, etc. and are generally meant to serve as a seasonal representation of the years mushroom season. Just about all of the listed rules for this forum have been completely disregarded. Please take the time to read all the Forum rules, paying specific attention to these in particular:
"1. When asking for an id on any mushroom[s], always include the information requested in Section II of this document.
2. Never give an identification if you are not sure, and never suggest that anyone eat an unidentified mushroom. Mushroom Hunting can be a dangerous hobby if you are not informed. If you suspect that what you're about to say could turn out to be wrong, very clearly disclaim it so people know you are just guessing. Never guess that it is an active species unless you are very sure. Incorrect ID's can have negative consequences.
3. Do not ask what mushrooms can be found growing in your state or immediate area. That information can be found here: http://www.shroomery.org/8461/Which-mushrooms-grow-wild-in-my-area See also An overview on how to find Psilocybin Mushrooms.
4. Do not ask about current finds in your area. These posts have been flooding the forum for years. If you're curious about if mushrooms are growing in your area, get out there and look! Mushrooms don't read the books. Sometimes they fruit outside of season. There is no set date for any season, only vast generalizations. Your best bet is that if it's close to the season for the mushroom you are looking for and its been raining, you just might find some.
5. Do not make threads or posts discussing or reporting the weather. This includes complaining about the weather, asking if the current weather is "good for shrooms", or how long to wait after rain fall to go hunting. If it has rained within the last 1-10 days, and the temperatures are correct for the type of mushroom you're looking for, and the time of year is correct then it is certain that that the mushroom you are looking for is growing.
6. No asking when or where mushrooms, or a specific mushroom species will grow. This includes, asking what habitat a mushroom[s] can be found- or their preferred fruiting conditions. This can be very simply answered by using the "search posts" feature: http://www.shroomery.org/forums/search.php
9. You must follow rules that apply to all forums. Please refer to this document.
11. No chatter about how you haven't found any shrooms yet..."
http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/2263556
Lastly, this is not the place to dump your ID requests, especially without making a decent effort to provide the necessary information. Not only does it needlessly clutter these types of threads, but you will get faster, better responses if you post in the main forum like you're suppose to.

Went to the part of the field I normally don't hunt cause wasn't finding much few weeks ago . Ended up finding few more copes and some dried out cubes I should of got earlier in week. They were already cracker dry mostly what you guys think , not worth trying and getting sick ? No mold but had a few bugs creeping around gills. Any advice would be great

Reminder also when hunting at night to be extra careful. I moved a old cow skull and was filled with wasps Then later on almost walked into black widow web, lucky I saw egg sack then saw spider.

Those look ok-ish, personally I'd soak em in alcohol like a shot to kill the critters.

Soak them with what kind ? Whiskey work? I have little bit left I can use. Then what just let evap away? What about just throwing in freezer for a hour, would that be bad ideal? And thxs starsheperd for your opinion, good looking haul yesterday

Anything stronger than wine in a blender with the nasty cubes, then blend well, let sit and drink really quick. My logic is that it is ok to eat shroom bacteria and parasites as long as they've been killed.
But we need to stay on topic, so thanks for the props on my haul yesterday. Be looking 20 feet inside and on the outside of tree lines, the shade keeps them fresh much longer, especially if your going in the afternoon.

I know we not suppose to talk about the weather and anyone that hunts outside can tell "the wetter the better" except if so flooded you need Noah to build a ark. And we don't need the tread flooded with noobs crying can't find anything cuz so dry. But I see other threads always talking weather around them.
thanks starsheperd for the advice , I believe what to do with wild cubes that are little past there prime isn't too far off topic of Florida actives
All apologies for not making my own thread to ask noob questions there and for being lazy not searching through old threads. I will go read more of last years FL post to learn more.
May the shrooms b with you
