Rye whole grain flour instead of brown rice flour in brf cakes?

Hey guys, What do you think about using rye whole grain flour instead of brown rice flour for making cakes? The problem is, that I couldn't find brf around my location and even the Asia stores just had white rice flour...
I already set up cakes with rye whole grain flour and it also colonize, but not so fast and would be probably better with brf? And what do you guys normally pay for brf?

If it works , it works . If you can't get brown rice flour, then keep what's work now for you, or make your own brown rice flour with a coffee grinder
Colonization speed could vary from many reasons.

Hello
it seems we are in the same...(similar)
I´m incubating some half pint jars PFtek but with Yuca (mandioca) flour instead BRF because could not find it. I started a thread with the explanation and problems that I have. If you want to read it... http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/20200514 (the pictures are small but i´m going to upload new pics in a few hours)

Rye flour will be just fine. Any kind of flour from whole grain works. You can even grind up WBS or corn and use it.
As was said, you can make your own BRF by just running whole brown rice through a coffee grinder. Only use brown rice, no other kind.
