What's with all this apocolypse talk
    #2018234 - 10/17/03 05:08 PM (13 years, 1 month ago)

Any none paranoid / faithless people left on this board.

Come on folks.  We have managed to survive a great number of threats to the extinxion of our survival.  I am sure we will manage to leap into space before too long and find away to keep surviving.  And if this human race ever does die off, I am sure god has plenty of back up human races.

I doubt the "apocalypse" will happen any time soon. I doubt it will ever happen.

But I do think something is going to happen soon. Not the end of the world, though. Just something big.

What you know you can't explain,
But you feel it;
You've felt it your entire life.
That there's something wrong with the world.
You don't know what it is, but it's there....
Like a splinter in your mind...
Driving you mad.

Since the begining of time, people have thought the same thing. The apocolypse would happen in their lifetime.

To this day, they have all been wrong.

People just dont like to die of old age anymore you know, everyone wants to die in this "apocylipse" the same ego that tells your going to heaven when you die because your so speeecial. Anyways, i really dont care, if it comes it comes if it doesent it doesent theres nothing we can do to stop it if it comes as far as us escaping this planet?? That would suck because only the snotty rich people (no offence) will be able to afford to get out and people like me will Burn slowly behind...

if you are refering to the mayan calendar, then it ends on the winter solstice of 2012, which i think is dec 21, 2012, not jan 1.

I will give no dates or anything, nor have I. It's useless to do so. I don't "know the future" :smirk:

And once again: the "apocalypse" is not coming.

But something else is.

Everything I have read on 2012, mostly by Terence Mckenna doesn't mension anything about an end, just a magnificant change to things which we can no not currently perceive of. I am not sure if that will happen, I am not denying the possibility. But Terence Mckenna seems to have a lot of faith in nature and never talks about an end to survival or any sort of gloomy bible sort of apocalypse.

Actually the Mayans say there is a purification, The Hopi belive the earth will also be purified because of mankinds seperation and disrespect to nature. Christianity speaks of a new Earth after the apocalypse. At the begining of the apocalypse it talks about how men run to hide in the mountains and under rocks. That might explain the Bonkers and shelters the U.S. has secretly built in some mountains of wich i cannot recall the name to right now. So i dont think any of the profecies speak of total anialation of the human race. The age of Aquarious symbolizes the begening of the end for our age. I wonder if all the stuff on the book of Revelations comes true within the next 10 years, do you really think we will really live happily and perfect for the rest of eternity on the new Earth??? Wouldnt it be cool if we survive all of that shit and then we have no book by wich to live by. The BIble will already be done, im guessing the remaining humans will just make up a new book with horrifying profecies of doomsday.

As long as no republicans survive i'll be happy.

Heh, maybe so :smirk:

Intuitively I feel that something is going to happen.  :smirk:

Extinct is subjective. It apears as though the universe is expanding at ever growing rates. If the universe can truly reach to infinity and beyond i see no extinction.
