Clone > Agar> Grain > G2G Pics *Udpated* * 1
    #20099470 - 06/08/14 08:07 AM (10 years, 7 months ago)

So I cloned this cluster from a MS grow a while ago

It was placed on agar and after a few transfers I used this plate to inoculate some masters

I didn't take any pics of the masters colonizing but I used one master and G2G 10 jars, here they are 5 days after the G2G transfer.

I'm thinking about doing a side by side comparison of CVG VS Straw/CVG using this clone and see what happens. I'll post here with updates, thanks for checking me out

Little update

The jars finished up colonizing over the weekend so I spawned them Monday and figured I share with you guys.

Here's the jars at 100%

They were spawned to a bulk sub of coir/verm/straw

6 dry qts of straw was soaked in warm soapy water for a few hours then rinsed through a colander with a few gallons of clean (no soap) water. After the rinse I  allowed to drain for about 30 mins then squeezed out excess water before adding to the rest of the substrate.

The straw was added to 2 bricks of coir that was hydrated with 8 quarts of water and 4 quarts of vermiculite (I'm doing to monotubs).  I usually add a hand full of gypsum per brick of coir but it slipped my mind, shame on me:tongue:

The substrate was mixed then loaded in turkey bags, zipped tied, and put in a large stock pot on a propane stove to pasteurize. One tubs worth of substrate in each bag.

After the substrate was cooled they were spawned to monotubs using four quarts Colonized WBS. Here they are 48 hrs after spawning.

This is an untested clone so I'm excited to see how it turns out. Hopefully a good fruiting culture.

Update-

Here's the tubs 4 days after spawning

And here we are 6 days after spawning, getting really close to 100% probably start fruiting in the next 24-48 hrs.

the metal "flashing" or whatever it is called in the front of the filter is banged up pretty good so I actually did all that in my largest SAB, I just don't trust the hood until I buy a new filter, it also needs a pre-filter. But yeah thanks it is nice having a flowhood.

No they're Burma, I pretty sure that the substrate they came from was overly hydrated (a little beyond field capacity) and that's why they have that gnarly look to them. I hope it's genetic but we'll see. It was actually the largest one in the cluster that I cloned.

Thanks pasty!!! I've got a bunch of clones I need to grow out that are on agar right now. Some are actually on grains already but most are clean and on plates, just need to get them on grains. To many projects at once

Here's a little update the tubs have been in fruiting conditions for 3 days now and they're both starting to knot up. It's hard to tell in the pics but hopefully in a few days I'll have a decent pinset with some pin porn for you guys.

Another update, came home from a weekend camping trip and had a look at these tubs, they are both knotting up like crazy but I found  a small spot of suspect growth on each tub. The growth in question is right under one of the bottom holes on each tub. Only one spot on each tub though. The first two pics are of the entire tub, the last two are of the suspect growth.

In the next picLook at the growth to the right of the polyfill

In this pics there's similar growth right under the polyfill just to the right a little.

Let me know what you guys think. I was thinking it could be some bacteria, possibly some dieing myc. Hopefully not trich (FUCK)

The thing is my spawn, I'm almost positive it was 100% clean. My pasteurization temp went a little high for a few mins (180 for like 5 mins) and with straw in my bulk sub that makes  me nervous. Any in put is appreciated. Thanks
