Not Panaeolus cyanescens, consider P. papilionaceus or P. acuminatus. Second one is Bolbitius titubans.

Yea mostly Pan papilionaceus. May be a couple cinctulus in there - look for bands of color. Post a couple more pics if you see some banded ones with a straight (not irregular) cap margin. Pan cyanescens are usually whitish or greyish and the bruise dark blue right away. They don't have the redish stems of many other pans too. But don't confuse them with the thick white Panaeolus antillarum.

More inactive Panaeolus species. I just saw you're in Ireland. Panaeolus cyanescens don't grow there [except in people's cupboards], they're a tropical species.
To find wild magic mushrooms you're best off waiting to autumn and hunting for Psilocybe semilanceata and P. cyanescens. If you're desperate in the mean time you could lookout for Panaeolus cinctulus in horse fields although I think they're infrequent and not very strong or grow some Pan cyans yourself.
I don't see any P. cinctulus in your collection.

My last post referred to other pics not the ones directly before. W
Those look like they either bruised significantly a while back or were dusted with their own or a larger mushroom's spores. That one at the bottom of pic two is something different. Almost looks like a piece of a cube. Where is the rest if that one?

Ok Ireland...definitely not a cube or pan cyanescens. Most likely spores in the wind giving those that darker color/border.

I think as long as you have identified them all as Panaeolus it would be fine to ingest. You may find that there is some level of active ingredients in species that have been named inactive. I would recommend gathering a large batch - although the 30 you collected - being sure that you have all Panaeolus and not any other genus in there - might be a good start. One way to ingest would be to take dried mushrooms and boil them up gently into a tea. You can drink the tea and discard the whole mushrooms. However if they are fresh it would be more productive to ingest them whole or blend them up. Usually with Panaeolus actives it takes large number of specimens because they are small, light and delicate. But it never hurt to give it a shot. And if you find anything positive from the experience you can gather a larger number and try the next level. Best of luck. Please just be sure that you have identified all specimens and that you don't mistakenly include a larger more substantial or just different type of mushroom that hasn't been identified in the mix you may ingest. J

I wouldn't recommend eating them as many have tried before you looking down the 5-HTP route or hoping there are small amounts of psilocinoid chemicals and the strongest reported effects are usually mild gastrointestinal upset or blatant placebo. Further more you may find you have a mixed collection with a bad mushroom being new to this so it's not worth it for the sake of a belly ache.

Read into Panaeolus cinctulus carefully if you want to find magic mushrooms now, as I said before, horse dung is best. But I've never found any in England. P. fimicola (& P. olivaceus) are even rarer and really hard to ID so I wouldn't bother with those.
