That has to be the most succinct answer of the day.
-------------------- You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity by legislating the wealthy out of prosperity. What one person receives without working for another person must work for without receiving. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for that my dear friend is the beginning of the end of any nation. What, no economic gang rape of productive individuals? Sounds good to me.
-------------------- To call humans 'rational beings' does injustice to the term, 'rational.' Humans are capable of rational thought, but it is not their essence. Humans are animals, beasts with complex brains. Humans, more often than not, utilize their cerebrum to rationalize what their primal instincts, their preconceived notions, and their emotional desires have presented as goals - humans are rationalizing beings.

I guess people could still take your shit, you just wouldn't be able to use threat of violence to try and stop them.

Yes, it'd be a shame if we couldn't force people to give up money they earned to people who want to mooch from them.

I"m sure this will be a surprise, coming from 'warmongering' me, but yes. I do think that would be nice.
It would take alot, however, for this to be considered good by me. First of all, noone, at any time, could ever commit any acts of violence. We would all work towards maintaining an ideal society, and striving to push forwards in every way.
do I think that will happen? Hardly.

Sounds like a fantasy to me...It will always be physically possible to forcefully agress against another. Maybe one day we will live in a society where the urge to commit such actions is a curious and distant memory.

Ummm... I think mushmaster has already made it clear that the scenario is a hypothetical one.
Although the possibility to forcefully aggress against other humans is hardwired into the human psyche, I can think of ways to achieve such a society once technology advances to a certain point. Imagine a society where every human at birth is issued a "peace drone" -- a little gizmo about the size of an olive which hovers above its "owner" at all times. Whenever that human attempts to initiate force against another human, the drone zaps him, knocking him unconscious for a few minutes.
