Bulb fibre
    #1961968 - 09/29/03 04:48 AM (20 years, 5 months ago)

I went in the garden center the other day, and asked for peat potting soil and the laddie pointed me in the direction of this stuff called bulb fibre, which is for growing bulbs. it contains oyster shells and wood charcoal would this be ok to use for a casing layer?  It smells just like when you open the PF jar for the first time  mushroom   I have looked in the F&Q and seen all the casing layers you can use. I just wondered if this would work as a casing layer. It also said it's really good at fighting contamination.

I've never heard of it before. I think there is only one way to find out, experiment and come back to us. You'll never know until you try. Most of the teks here were through trial and error, if it works it would be a fine contribution to the community.
