Is potting soil an OK casing mix?

Is a general potting soil an OK mix for casing, or will the fertalizers contaminate the mushrooms?

I've heard you can use potting soil, but have no experience with it.

To me, it seems inferior to the accepted casing formulas that consistently produce.

Give it a shot and let us know what you think.

there are much much better methods. its called read the FAQ on casing, have you done it yet? heres a link my shroomy buddy!

try to find a poting soil without fertalizer .
Jiffy Mix is a good one . 50% peat 50% verm with lime .
