I agree with that list for the most part and I would also add nirvana.
I just don't get it with Nirvana?

Anyone who says the beatles are exactly like the backstreet boys has obviously never even listened to them. Probably the same type of people that are so shallow that they think any music older tha 10 years is crap.

OK I am going to defend TOOL based on the fact I play guitar and I KNOW whats original, at least in terms of TIMING etc and TOOL is!
tool has a timing of 13\7 on some songs, most music is 4\4
anyway,musical folk will see what I am saying, and if you think tool sucks, but you dont play yourself

How can Phish be overrated? The media almost entirely ignores them. They get zero radio play. Trey is a mad scientist. Phish has written too many awesome songs and they effectively utulize many different styles of music.
The Grateful Dead. Their music is definitely not overrated. But there are too many kids that sport stickers and shirts for reasons other than the music. Not a crime but, I could do without that.
The Beatles. Possibly the most important band in the history of rock? OVERRATED? Hardly.
I don't think Tool is overated. That said, I dislike their music. I know this sounds so cliche, but all their songs sound too much alike, Those fuckers need to diversify. They have their own style: shitty. I liked their first couple songs, but then it got old fast. Dissapointing to say the least.
Metalica they wrote some good songs. Overrated? Probably.
Soochi has a damn good point. Why are arguing about these bands. Even I'll admit I'd rather listen to Tool than JT or whatever the shit they are playing on mtv these days. MTV and most radio is all about advertising and money and so not about MUSIC.

You people are insane. The Beatles? Overrated? Give me a break. I don't care how popular they were in the 60's or how they fell apart later, if you actually listen to their music... incredibly innovative and artistic! Geez :P
Anyway, led zeppellin is overrated.

malachi is the most underated recording artist of all time, considering they are obviously the sickest!
and korn was rap metal in 1994.. they helped start the nu metal movement which i was unluckily part of way back then.
