Great job apprentice!!!! I did pretty much exactly what you did, except I laid grass seed over the top, and it acted as a casing layer once the grass started growing in. Took about 2.5 weeks, but once it pinned, it went crazy. Only problems I had were 1. Rabbits love grain, and 2. ants love colonized sub, for some reason. So I placed some chicken wire over the patch, and made a beer and honey mix, about 30ft away, to distract the ants. 3. Like an idiot I used some organic, slug control about 10ft away, and it molded like crazy, about 12 hours after the first rain, it spread, like cobweb.. I was an h202 spraying fool! Worked great!! Huge first flush, awaiting a second, hopefully!!!! Good luck!

A pound a sq ft would be sick. I hope mine does that well. Just broke through the top layer and it's raining today

Nice!!! It will be pinning very soon, check them at least twice a day! From here on.

how much did you get from your first flush?
I feel like a tarp is necessary during colonization.

I harvested 1,345 grams off of the first flush. They were rather large, they dried to 157 grams. Stems were hollow, due to the higher temps, (high 80's)
These are a few from the first flush. I let them mature a bit.

perfect, the grass will just help it to not dry out the top layer everyday, grass is kick ass at holding moisture down
