Cobweb and WORMS!?
    #20057231 - 05/29/14 05:01 PM (9 years, 10 months ago)

So, I have 3 cakes which have flushed a few times. I just noticed they have what looks to be cobweb growing under them where there has been wet verm between them and the jar lid. This is understandable.

I then noticed that at least one of my cakes has WORMS hanging out in the cobweb! WTF??

What do? Obviously these cakes are probably done... but are the fruits ok?

Also, WTF???

Notice any flies in your area? http://www.shroomery.org/5283/Dealing-with-Mushroom-Flies

I would get ride of the cakes in a way witch would kill the worms. They could be maggots.

If you feel the need to try to salvage some of it, cut the bottom off with an extremely hot knife to cauterize it. Make sure you do it high enough so that any mold/worms are cut off with it. Then clean your environment well and use different lids/foil to place the cakes on.

If the fruit seems healthy, probably okay. I'd cut it lengthwise(several times) to be sure there is not an infestation of some kind. Might be a good idea to cook before ingesting as well.

Those are fungus twat larva. There can be eggs/larva where you don't cut. They tunnel through the cakes.

You don't want an infestation of those fuckers in your fruiting area. Its best not to risk it. I would probably burn the cakes as just them being in the area would bring move into your house. I have seen one in my fruiting area. I killed the fly. Its summer and they are active. You can try fly tape or a bug zapper.

I reckon the fruits are ok... even if the worms are in them you could still probably eat them once dried crispy, extra nutrients. lol.

Thanks for sharing that awesome pic  :earthy:

Did you dunk your cake for 24 hours? That should kill them.
