Okay, finally an update!!
So over the course of the last few weeks I've been quite the busy little bee. After knocking up the half gallon jars I then proceeded to prep several batches of WBS into mostly quart jars. Some jars were knocked up with a G2G method and the rest were done with a MS syringe made by me from a print (again ATL#7 Psilocybe Galindoi is the strain in question and the mission is to obtain some stones...)
P. Galindoi Quart Jars #'s 1-6
Grain to Grain method of inoculation
Inoculated on 5/28/2014

First signs of sclerotia life

Total Amount of Grains
I have 1 Half Gallon Jar (5/24) 4 Pint Jars (5/8) 11 Quart Jars (5/28-5/31) 3 Quart Jars (6/8)
...and one more batch of 6 quart jars to come!
TOTAL - 24 Quarts for an even 6 gallons!!

Heres just a master jar of mine, almost at 100% colonization in only 7 days!!!!

Thanks for your patience people!! More to come soon!!!

I've been curious about the trip of stones. Cubes always give me very steady "waves" during my trip. Cubes also are very speedy to me, almost too much. I'm hoping stones may be a happier medium for me.

i got "waves" in beginning. took 30g fresh, and damn, it was more like brain vibrations than waves. like my brain was an alien landing pad. cubes are a little tough around the edges...maybe more evil i like that tho. keeps u on ur toes

Hey blinding leaf I had a couple questions for you if you don't mind
One
Have you even successful growing stones and the fruits off stones?
Two
Do you know if after I harvest my stones, and then fruit the grains will more stones grow in the substrate? Like...a second harvest of stones??
Thanks!!

all the answers u need are here
and here
stonesun is scrlerotia man. that second link, scroll down to his "just as easy as cubes" series, for better info on fruiting them.
u can harvest ur stones from a jar, and spawn the remaining grains to bulk for fruits if u want, they will still form stones in the substrate. but as far as harvesting stones, then putting grains back in a jar...i doubt it

People isolate good stone producing sectors on agar all the time and they do just fine if not better than ms.
A stone probably has more than one strain in it so you'd still basically be doing an ms inoculation with just a smaller set of genetics.

do you have a scope or something? yes cloning a stone will result in equal to or more stones than MS. fruit ur MS tho and clone that too, cause i isolated stone producer, and it won't ever fruit more than 3 aborts when i spawn it to bulk

I just end up doing some solid G2G work. I've had fully colonized quart jars in 7 days AND they produce stones like a mofo.
I am actually harvesting a couple small jars today. They have substantial stones but they won't be an amazing harvest or harvest weight so I'm debating on whether or not to log them and take pics for you guys....

Thoughts? To picture and log or not to picture and log, that is the question.

QUICK UPDATE!!
Okay guys just a quick update here. A special one though!
So I decided to harvest 3 of my shitty pint jars that I just threw together on a whim because I had a few extra spores and some extra crap jars (without GE filters or holes to speak of) that didn't fully colonize and I really didn't even think they would last long. To my surprise they had grown quite a bit over the course of 45 days!! The next few photos are pre-harvest jars, during the harvest, and post harvest total weight (didn't weigh each individual jar harvest because the yields were minimal at best but here it goes)

MY FIRST STONES EVER
JAR #1

JAR #2

JAR #3

TOTAL WEIGHT - 28.1g (pics below)

Okay, so I realize that it's not much AT ALL. I will restate that they were just a couple of thrown together jars that I didn't expect to take and they did. Their sister jar was used as a master grain jar for G2G and helped start my 6 gallon stash of grains and ATL#7 (P. Galindoi).
They are my very first stones and I am a very proud father

I did some galindoi in micro-monotubs. They held about one quart of substrate apiece, and I made the holes with a heated tiny tomato paste can, which nevertheless was huge compared to the size of the tub. Then I put two uncovered 1/4" holes at the top of the sides, and with 2x daily misting and fanning and a poo substrate got a decent amount of fruits.

stevo said: I was wondering if a "monotub" style attempt with a 2x a day fan/mist be sufficient FAE to trigger fruiting?
FAE is not a quick replacement / mixing of atmosphere inside the tub with the atmosphere outside of it.
FAE is the constant influx of an oxygen rich atmosphere mixings and replacing an atmosphere with significant CO2 concentration.
I've also done a micro-mini galindoi. It was spawned to coir / verm and cased with Coir / verm / EWC and it has yet to fruit. Part of this is because I made the holes too big for a mini mono. The substrate was dried out every morning I checked it even with very tight polyfil in my top holes.
