No. PC is for steriliztion and you have to be extremely sterile to grow shrooms. Remember you are growing a type of fungus.

PF tek works pretty good. PF tek for simple minds, imo, is the best newbie tek because it works so well, and it's so fool proof.  Good luck, feel free to ask any more qestions, tho you'll probably take some heat for asking before ya search

Here's the link about using a microwave for sterilization:

Good luck, hope it works for you.

In all honesty though you shouldn't be using a microwave to sterilize if you have access to a stove. You should follow the MMGG technique for sterilization with a stove if you can, it would probably be much more sterile than with a microwave.

Yeah, I certainly wouldn't suggest the microwave tek. You can sterilize things much more efficiently on the stove, as MycoCat said. I would definitely suggest investing in a pressure cooker if you're going to get serious about this hobby though, it's by far the most utilized piece of equipment in our field.

Here is a link to the fractional sterilization method utilizing the stove.

If you're after a REAL lazyman's tek, I'd say go for Mycobags. That's what my friend is currently using. All you do is inoculate and wait. NO sterilizing (substrate in bag is pre-sterilized), NO casing, NO birthing. Although the yield is significantly lower from what I gather, the results are almost guaranteed since sterilization is not an issue. Go to www.mycobag.com, order one of the bags, then get a spore syringe (strain of your choosing). Inject the spores into the bag through the self-healing injection site, put the bags in a dark area with high humidity at 75-85 degrees F, then let sit for several weeks. When the bags are fully colonized (substrate is completely white with mycelium), give them some air and maybe mist them with some water, and you'll be pickin' shrooms in no time. From what I've been told, it takes a bit longer than other teks (around 2 months from start to finish), but it's a helluva lot easier. Good luck man.
