I wish I had a digital camera, but I will try to explain what I have been noticing bout my casing. On friday I checked and there appeared to be some lighter, less thick, greyer material surrounding the mycelium that was poking through the casing later. It bummed me out, but I checked today, and yes, its still there, but it hasn't viciously spread or anything. I guess what I'm wondering is, if I DO have cobweb is it very easy to detect after a couple days? Does it get thick and cover the entire casing layer with the fibers? Could this lighter, thinner material be weaker mycelium?
The stuff does look suspicious, but it hasn't appeared to vicisiously spread over the entire casing area. And theres no suspicious smell, just the smell like fresh birthed cakes.
So you say its coming from points were the mycelium
has broken the surface? This could (hopefully) just be
thinner fore runners of what your after, but you say
its grey ? Is it very different in colour from
the whiter, or just a little different?
Good news it doesnt seem to be spreading fast, as cobweb
