Last year afoaf had quite the bumper crop for being the first time ever attempting to hunt for a mushroom, much less afoaf's first time hunting for weilii in uncharted territory (read: outside the Atlanta confines).
So afoaf pulled about 300-400 in about a months time out of one little neighborhood acre or so. All these we ground and made into chocolates of about 2.5 to 3.5 g apiece of weilii (nearly 50 chocolates in all), stored in tinfoil, frozen and slowly given away to afoaf's friends and confidants.
In the length of a year, some things have happened that afoaf has noticed. Some could be psychosomatic, the others are physically apparent.
Afoaf noticed the chocolate itself has become craptastic. Its crumbly and dry now, the taste isnt that of chocolate anymore, but just some sort of dry-crumbliness. (yes yes, that was eloquent)
Along with the chocolate quality dimished, afoaf has noticed a marked increase in body load during trips on these chocolates. The stone is much heavier and the mindfuck is not a comfortable anymore. This could be because of a bad run or two, leaving afoaf with certain insecurities about these particular chocolates, but one cant be sure.
My question is this. How long will psilocybes, weilii in particular, keep, while maintaining its potency and such? Im tempted to toss the rest of them and spend a day or two roaming suburbia.
Right. Afoaf understands about the chocolate. That was just a precursor to afoafs questions on the weilii. Afoaf means, isnt oxidation a no-no for psilocybin? So if the chocolate is crumbling, then air has created pores and penetrated the chocolate. That would leave afoaf to believe that the psilocybin is being affected as well. dontcha think?
After all a year is a long time to keep mushies, in any form.
all very theoretical. Afoaf has no problem tossing them.
