2013.5 VW GLI Autobahn Mods: Stage 1 ECU tune, P3cars digital boost gauge, ST coilovers, Whiteline rear sway bar, Whiteline end links, APR Carbonio cold air intake, Klutch SL14 18x8.5 ET 42 wheels, Michelin Pilot Super Sports 205/40R/18, 5% tint back 15% in front
Not the fanciest car in the world but she's my baby and fancy to me

Average about 29 MPG with my usual highway driving (90MPH), I can get it to about 35-37 MPG if I drive really conservatively. Haven't gotten a true dyno yet but Torque app says I'm pushing around ~275 HP. Want to upgrade the turbo next.
What I really love about the car is KESSY (keyless entry) and keyless start, I never have to take the keys out of my pocket. I just approach the car and when the key is outside the car within ~3 feet, you put your hand to the inside of the door handle and it senses it and unlocks. Same when you go to lock, just press your finger against the outside and locks it. There's no place to even put the key inside, it's push button start. But wont start unless the key is inside the car. Feels all futuristic and shit. And it's impossible for me to lock my keys in my car.

Neat, I always wanted a turbo, I'm thinking about buying an old car and going ape shit on the mods since my primary vehicle is on warranty.

It comes with a turbo but I want to upgrade it heh. Car is so new though, there's not many engine mods for it. APR JUST came out with a turbo upgrade for this model, they are the only one so far. Still in warranty, but my dealer is pretty cool.. they won't deny warranty on any parts unless they can prove the mod specifically caused the failure. Of course anything that I modded is not covered under dealer warranty, but that's just how it goes. I have warranties with the respective companies so whatevz. I doubt I'll need any serious work done before the warranty expires anyway, but who knows.

Right on, all my cars have always been naturally aspirated. I used to have a 1999 honda civic si, all motor, with pretty much every mod you could think of. I miss that car sometimes, however realizing that I spent $30,000 on a $13,000 car, makes me feel kindda dumb, lol.

lol.. yeah. kinda funny.. I see a lot of those too.. but hey.. whatever floats yer boat. Around here it's mostly all beamers and shit driving around.. you see the occasional pimped out Honda Mine's more like a 30k car and I've already put about 5k into it. Before it's all said and done who knows.. Some people see cars and modding cars as a colossal waste of money. I see going out to bars and shit as a colossal waste of money. Car peoples get enjoyment out of what we do (it's a hobby!) so there's nothing wrong with dumping your hard earned money in it as long as it makes you happy. And it does

Same color, same rims. Looks exactly like mine, except mine is a bit dirtier.

True that! I totally agree.
But theres the other side of the coin, I made the mistake of thinking that my car was my life when I was a youngster. When I destroyed it, I was devastated, like a piece of me was taken. I thought nobody would ever see me the same, lol, pretty ridiculous. When you see it just as a fun hobby you can truly enjoy it on another level. I'm getting older, I gave up my motorcycles for a car, and I bought newer so I wouldn't have to worry about repairs and stuff, so far, it's going well.

Right on. Getting older does help. Although I wouldn't have had the money to go mod crazy when I was younger anyway heh.
This is actually my first new car ever, all my previous cars I bought used and paid in cash. It does help knowing you have warranty if anything does go wrong. And man that new car smell...

I really like the GLI's. Nice car man. With the APR turbo upgrade you easily put it at at least 360hp I believe. Am I right? I have a friend with a 2012 GTI using the cheapest APR turbo upgrade with pretty much the same mods you have, and he's pushing 375hp. Really nice wheels too btw.
I've been driving a 02 mazda 626 for about the last 6 months since I got it at the auction with only 42k miles on it. Before that I was driving a different car every couple weeks from the auction, fixing w.e's wrong with it and trying to make a profit on it. They are all in the 5-15k price range.
Nothing ever fancy with the exception of some early-mid 00's BMW's or Mercedes if I can find them at a good price.
For now I'll be driving the mazda until it hit's 60k miles. Then it's time to sell.

Yeah.. they haven't "officially" released the turbo upgrade yet for this gen engine, but posted some teaser pics and dynos.. looks like it's pushing around 360HP or more with a tune and the turbo. Cannot wait...
