Psilocybe baeocystis, First active find of the year!
    #2000872 - 10/11/03 07:33 PM (14 years, 2 months ago)

Well I stumbled across some baeo's while hunting with a friend today.  First find for me this year, makes me happy   about 30 pins left too!

There is some intense bruising.  Took some pics, here they are.  Sorry there is no particular order to this pics...

BTW can anyone offer some dosage advice...thanks.

The find for the day.  24 total.

This is the path I found them along.  Looks like alder chips.  Nice and damp too.

Some aminitas just up the path on the hillside. Left them there, no use for them.

Nice finds man,and I think those are pretty damned potent so I would start with a low doseage, maybe a little less than 3 grams?Always start low tho and then work your way up!Good pics and Good Luck!

Thanks for the advice.  I really need to find a scale for cheap

I hear they are on the same level of potency as cyan's.  I did try some cyan's last year, took 4 mature caps and 3 stems, do not know weight, and that was a fun trip.  Awesome visuals.  I'm hoping for the same affect as the cyan's...lots of visuals

Here is a sporeprint of a couple of the mature caps.  I am very novice when it comes to sporeprinting, only my second attempt, but it turned out ok.  I used the index card/packing tape tek.

verry nice. the certainly do look to be baeos.
verry nice find.

you should handle/bruise them as little as youy can manege.
i have seen 5g fresh or so suggested as a dosage. if you are not familiar with the experience you should start lower.

Attn PWN hunters: If you should come across a bluing Psilocybe matching P. pellicolusa please smell it.
If you detect a scent reminiscent of Anethole (anise) please preserve a specimen or two for study and please PM me.

Thanks.

Yeah the only stem I bruised intentionally was the first one I picked...mainly to help 100% identify the mushroom. I used scissors to but the stems at the base so the mycelium could continue to fruit. The oxydation of the drug reduces the potency...thanks for the reminder though, I know there are plenty here who probably dont know that fact. Good one to know too! Helps the shroom stay longer too!
