That does make sense. I have the same problem lots of the time. Maybe it isn't supposed to make sense.

The problem is that you're trying to make sense when you aren't supposed to make sense, so you should not try to make sense and then you'll make sense.

too many thoughts is too much clutter for your head.  try and focus and things will flow better.  I used to have the same problem but it's a little different (I had a stuttering problem). it was that I had so much going on in my head that my mouth couldn't keep up and as a result, my sentences sounded completely jumbled and I was easily confused.

pick out a single target and then expand on it. Rather than jumping from subject to subject use your many thoughts to focus on one single subject. I found that this is the best way (for me) to learn how to focus.  soon my mind would try to see all aspects on that single thought. Doing this allows the mind to firmly grasp many different aspects of one target. When you have a good grasp on what you're talking about and have thought out almost every aspect on whatever you're thinking, it's really easy to convey your thoughts outloud or on paper.

Annnnnnd I had a light saber and my friend was there and I said "you look like an indian" and he said "you look like satan" and he found a stick and a rock and he named the rock ooga booga and he named the stick Stick and we both thought that was pretty funny. We got eaten alive by mosquitos but didn't notice til the next day. I stepped on some glass while wading in the swamp and cut my foot open, didn't bother me til the next day either....yeah it was a good time, ended the night by buying some liquor for minors and drinking nips and going to he diner and eating chicken fingers, and then I went home and went to bed.

Hrmm, yea I know what you mean.

The problem for me was, since I was thinking of EVERYTHING, then when I tried to write it down, it had to start as just ONE thing, which wasn't EVERYTHING, so it was impossible to convey. And if I did start writing about one thing, then it felt like I wasnt even writing what I meant to write about, because I wasn't.

Hrmm, I don't even really know what I just typed but it sounded good as i typed it.

yea, what kaiowas said, Focus.

ack, a moogle... i havent seen you bastards for awhile.

When you first think of something, do you use words to describe it in your head?

Or does it come as Meaning? Or Concept?

And when you try to talk about it or write it down, do you still understand it but just can't put it to language?

get a journal. write in the morning, afternoon, and at night before you sleep.  plus anyother time you feel overwhelmed or inspired.  its fun and practical to have a journal.  and you can write about ANYTHING. :grin:try it

I second Underground.
Minds can be a mess sometimes, but in there somewhere is a legitimate message. Practice and do what it takes to piece it together so that you may share it with yourself and others. keep trying to right it down, record it, and try to communicate it on these boards(!).

converting from thoughts to words is indeed a pain

my way of feeling better:

go somewhere and cry, like an isolated park or something. or take a walk and listen to some music, and completely tune into the music, and not those other thoughts. breathing meditation too

"i have so much on my mind that i want to talk about but everytime i write it down or try to actually talk..it doesnt ever make any sense... "
--------------------

Seems as though you like to skip around in your mind alot.. Not a bad thing.

Ever try to notice if any of your writing comes together.. maybe it dosen't flow completely out in one sitting; perhaps you are finding various puzzle pieces that will only be put together coherently after a few writing sessions.

I do that with music. I seldom write a full song in one sitting. But I keep all of the pieces I compose on my mind. After a couple of weeks to a month of collecting pieces, I put a song together, just like a puzzle.

This technique creates some very interesting twists.
