THATS iT! I am getting frustrated. I decided I would try something better than a heating pad, so I tried a two tub incubation system. Before I went out and bought an aquarium heater I decided to see if the two tubs would fit in each other with water and my jars in it. No they wont. If you try to press the tub down into the water the sides of the tub holding the water spread apart from the amont of mass in the water, so you cant fit the top on. As long as there is open space in the tub inside the tub, that tub will always float. However this tek would work with metal tubs and a shit load of pressure on the tub in the water. I filled the tub up with jars of substrate to weight it down but still no luck. The tubs sides still spread apart unallowing the top to fit on and the tub still floated. So disappointingly I give this tek a thumbs down.

What are you smoking? Two rubbermaid containers of the same size work fine and u can incubate anything in it. Your tub should not float. The problem is you didn't do it the right way.

I use cable ties to pull the bins together, but anything would do.

Tie them together. (he he he....I was going nuts with the same problem.) I put a empty half pint in each corner so the top rubbermade wouldn?t crush the heater.

Can anyone direct me to the area of the site that has an Incubation Tek, if there is one? Thanks.

Thanks for the advice Magash. Unlike some other people (Fungulus). How do you keep it covered?

Holy crap, mine's been floating, and it works fine. I figured the warm water was just the same as a heating pad.

heres some pics of MR gnomes "magash incubator"
this pic shows how the use of better quality containers prevents the side caving in under the water pressure.
this pic shows how the top tub fits snuggly in the bottom tub,yet still allows about a half inch of heated water up the sides. note the water level and the bottom tub level.
the top sits on perfectly and has snap down handles.
then just keep the hole thing well covered to keep out the light and keep in the heat.
