Kicking the dog is a bit over the edge. I know what you mean about liking when it does something wrong because you get to discipline it, but I'm more into restraint myself. Not self restraint mind you, but like restraining a dog or a cat or a woman while it struggles to get away as a form of discipline. I definitely identify as a power tripper. And I embrace it. (lil double entendre, anyone?)

Lol at all the armchair pop psychologists in this thread, so quick to cry sociopath... Did you learn that from your Psych 101 classes, or just from serial killer movies?

Better to just love, nurture and respect your pet from a young age.  Wanting to "establish dominance" is a ridiculous old school, machismo, scumbag christian way of operating.  You control the food, they know it.  If you respect them they will want to earn your respect in return.

Roll your eyes all you want to. Doesn't change a thing.  If you enjoy inflicting pain on other creatures (either animals that don't understand, or people that don't consent to being treated like that) you're a fucking sociopath.  No "psych 101" class needed.  If you do these things you're a pathetic and weak sociopath.

You can call it discipline if you want to. Hell, call it whatever you like.

Or just like, not a hippie.

Pretty sure there has been a moment in everyone's life where they enjoyed watching a living thing suffer. Hell even most hippies love watching a bully get his comeuppance, and would enjoy seeing a wall street exec in a nice suit fall face first into a puddle of mud. Does enjoying watching a snake preying on a mouse make one a piece of shit? Can you not watch a cat toy with an insect and be an okie dokie person IYO?

I think that if you like to make any blanket statements about people being pieces of shit for ____, you are pious hippie or a short sighted buffoon. Probably both.

Most of us get urges/feelings to do stuff like that. The reason you are getting such a negative reaction here is because the anons have these urges too and have not dealt with them or are in denial. People tend to hate others who resemble themselves the most. It is a very prominent psychological function to hate that which you yourself are and not realize that you're hating your own qualities.
I would recommend to do a lot of 'soul searching'. Figure out what you wanna do in life - how you want to live. What are the implications of what you are doing? Those animals are a part of you after all. I hope you find a way to express your inner love towards animals and stop vibrating along the lines of abuse through methods of self reflection and analysis. Good luck, much love

UM, NO. MOST people DONT get these urges. You're worse than OP because you're delusional enough to think it's normal. Please OP and anon12 GET SOME PROFESSIONAL HELP. You're both mentally unstable. Period.
