Had a couple of dreams last night, or maybe it was just one very long one that shifted setting dramatically in the middle of it. The first half of it was in highschool, and pretty unremarkable. But the second half of the dream was set in a Sam's club looking place with a subway running through it(Idiocracy? I did watch that last night lol). Everything was deserted and the store was cleared out and except for two friends and I who were riding the shuttle to get to another part in the store where there was a dragon we had to fight.

At one point we got separated and it was my friend and I, and the third one just kind of got left behind I guess, but another shuttle pulled up, and the doors opened and it was just filled with Japanese people, like we had just stepped on a subway in Tokyo. It was weird, I remember smiling and bowing to the train conductor who was just chilling in the car .  My friend wouldn't get on the train and I got pissed off, and then I woke up.

Idk what it means.

Only you can truly interpret your dreams -they are not in a sharedsense, logical.

Next time, you ask someone in your dream what it means, and you will get a seemingly bad/unrelated answer -remember the answer, and review it awake.

I feel like your dream conveys a sense of want or need that you can't attain. The dragon makes me feel like it's a metaphor for the efficacy and mythological sense you might feel for the thing you long for.

That's just how it made me feel.

Sadly I was not lucid in this dream. I've only reached lucidity a couple times, and even then it was only to the extent that I realized I was dreaming, tried to fly, and only ended up jumping up and down.

I'll have to remember this though. I want to put more effort into lucid dreaming.

Story of my life. There's a lot of things I want very badly right now, but it's just not gonna happen, at least not for some time.
I'm in the process of going through the legal system and getting charges expunged, but it's very stressful and my court date has been repeatedly pushed back, it's been looming over my head for the past 4 months now and I will be dealing with it for another couple of months, unfortunately, and I feel like a lot of the dreams I have relate to it.

A couple nights ago I visited this one place I've been to a few times before in my dreams. I've only recently started going to this place, first time I found my self there in a dream was a few years ago.

It's an aquatic like dreamscape, expansive calm waters, lots of reeds and water-plants distributed about the waters, muted/flat/faint colors of turquoise, greys, and blues. Various wooden docks about the waters that are not connected to any land. Hard to explain, but the place usually has an "Asian" like feel to it  , like it feels as if I'm somewhere in south east Asia or the pacific islands about that region...but there is no land and there's nothing that should really suggest that's where I am, it's just a feeling I feel when there.

I was skimming across the waters at a fairly high rate of speed...just like flying in a dream, but instead I was moving about right at the surface of the water. I could feel the body-temperature water trickle over my body as I was skimming along the surface. I've done this before in past dreams I've had here, sometimes diving down into the waters.

My memory becomes blurry of what happens after doing that for a little while, but my memory picks back up of being on land and some dude showing me this new "bike" he's made. It was similar to a bicycle in size and general appearance, but the frame was a bit more "futuristic", it was white with faint rainbow light spilling out of it (Kind of like looking at bright white lights/surfaces on LSD), the thing had no pedals, just small pegs to place the feet like on a motorcycle.

The dude wanted me to try the bike out so I did. Hopped on it, to move forward all I had to do was think about moving forward, no twisting of the wrist-throttle like on a motorcycle, or pedaling. Other than that it was just like a bike. It was very smooth and accelerated quickly with strong pull, similar to what I imagine a torque-y electric motorcycle would be like. It was incredibly fast, the speed was pretty much limited to how fast I "thought" it could go, if that makes sense. I was riding it on a track/course of sorts, dipping the knees down in the turns and hitting every apex of the turns on point, just flat out jamming around this track.

....I ended up waking shortly after riding this track for a bit. Right before I woke though, the flat surface of the track/course I was on with the bike started to break into weird angles, loss of "normal" gravity, and a conflicting sense of which is the proper way up/down/left/right, very similar to that M.C. Escher print "Relativity", the one with stair cases going all sorts of ways.

So the dream I had last night was fucked up.

It was like one giant flashback of really terrible things that happened to me a couple of years ago when I was working at a sketchy sketchy bar, but then mass chaos ensued and the dream went in a post-apocolyptic dystopian direction, and at one point I got up from my bed and a bunch of hands(like a good 4 pairs of them at least) shot out and grabbed me from the space under my bed and pulled me under.

That's the one moment I remember vividly, the rest is kinda a blur.

It was one of those dreams where you wake up and breathe a sigh of relief that everything was just a dream.

There have been multiple times recently that I wake up and my mind is still in the dream world.  I'm consciously aware of my surroundings, but I'm unable to fully wake and get out of the position that I'm laying in.  These times are enjoyable but there's also an element of fear, as if my mind isn't certain as to whether or not I'll wake up eventually.  Time doesn't exist and I feel like it's a dimension of perception where my thoughts overpower my surroundings.

Sleep Paralysis?

Usually it's accompanied by intense fear and somtimes even hallucinations, as your mind is still kind of asleep.

I've experienced it a few times, and I can think of two instances where it was particularly terrifying. The very first time I experienced it I was 13 and rapidly switching back from full on dreaming to sleep paralysis. The dream I switched back to was kind of freaky too, like there was something predatory stalking my friends and I in the bushes while we road our horses in a field(another flashback), and then I remember opening my eyes and seeing a figure look through the doorway and peek in at me. I actually asked my parents if they checked on me the next morning and verified that it wasn't them...then I never slept with the door open again :uhoh:

The next time it happened it was a couple years later and I heard all this weird static/white noise, and weird scratching coming from the closet.

Sometimes I wake up and I forget where I am, though, it's very very strange, seems to happen to me in very dark rooms particularly. Like..I can't orient myself correctly and have no sense of direction..it's weird.

I really enjoy this thread.
Rarely do I remember my non-waking dreams, and when I do they are pretty fucking strange. I think my subconscious kicks them out as they are way too weird and traumatic to try to interpret in common sense and just wouldn't be understandable.
Sometimes I wake up and try to write down some of my dreams, but I can feel my brain kicking out the "good" parts as I am trying to write them down. I can never write fast enough.
Anyhow, I do enjoy hearing about other peoples dreams, and I really appreciate that you all share in here.

Thanks!

I usually leave out the weirdest and most fucked up parts of my dreams when telling it to general audiences :uhoh:.

Like the time where I had recoccuring dreams about insects raping me and then starting to molt into one myself. I think I wrote about that in one of the other dream threads here.
That was a doozy, tho.

This dream-setting is a place I've been to before in my dreams, mostly only in the past 2 years. It has a feel/vibe and general appearance of a beach I went to when I was a kid.

I was quite lucid, standing next to a railing looking over the beach and ocean, I could see the visual part of the setting/place being patched together with various imagery/colors.  I found my self talking to some random guy while I was looking over the beach, a person that I do not know in my "awake" life. I started to tell him that the beach we were at was a place I spent a lot of time as a kid, and that it's been a year or so since I've been back there. I forget what exactly was said, but he brought up something about "god" and wanted to know if I believed in such a thing or what my idea of god is. From here my mind started to spin off into a fast flow of random associations with the word "god". It was an unfolding hodgepodge of various thoughts, imagery, words/sounds all associated with the word god...but it was mostly visual/imagery and in the form of geometry, then it was like I was actually seeing the "geometry" underlying this flow of random association of the word god.

It was quite strange...While this was occurring I became disconnected from the dream-setting, the beach that I was on. After a while I slipped back into the setting on the beach again and the guy was still there waiting for my reply. I apologized and tried to explain to him that I was having trouble keeping my thoughts together, that they kept spinning off into a flow of loosely related ideas...then once again I lost touch with the beach-setting and fell back into that unhinged flow.

This went back and forth a few times, being on the beach, then spinning off into random thoughts, then back on the beach again with this guy waiting for me to answer him.....Then I woke shortly after.

I wish I could remember more of the dream in detail, prior to this particular occurrence in the dream I do recall some interesting shit happening while being pretty lucid...it's just all sort blurry and vague at this point. I thought the question about god in this dream was random, interesting component to this dream.

Last night I had a dream I was walking to my one of my school crushes' front door.

Then the house became my best friend's house, and then after that it even became one of my Ex's house.

I had another dream I was spider man, swinging around some video game level.

It was an area with skyscrapers and water in the bay.

It was so fun. Swinging around town, and leaping off buildings. I could feel the wind, swing intensity and everything.

:super:

The other night i had a dream i met Timothy Leary at this huge psychedelic convention thingy. We talked for a little bit and he gave me a strip of acid and a huge sack of buds (did he even smoke? o.O) and that's about all i remember. I woke up before i got to eat some of the acid :frown:

Your brain didn't want to recreate/replicate tripping, so it just decided it was time to wake up.

Last night I had a dream my little brother was chasing me up the stairs with a nerf gun.

I couldn't load my clip so I took refuge behind my bedroom door.

Before that we were in my basement looking over some DLC skins for a future street fighter/MK game.

Nice dream thread  . I don't often record dreams these days. Here is one of the ones I remembered from this week :
I have trouble remembering which fragment came first so I'll arrange them in a random order.

There I was in my house. The furniture and layout is a bit different. Giant (almost the size of a horse) crabs come out of nowhere. I killed them and fed some to my cat. He nommed on it.

On en empty bus. It's missing a door on the back or w/e - like an old school trolley. The bus is empty except for me the driver and one more man. The last guy is tied with a rope to the back and is being dragged by the bus. I knew who he was and tried to come up with a term for it within the dream but couldn't settle on one. He was a kind of scapegoat/jesus character. I pulled him up by the rope and could feel his weight. Once aboard I untied him. Went up to the driver and told him there was a guy being dragged behind us - he didn't know. Turned around and the  rescued man had vanished like a rainbow in a storm. Some how I knew he didn't step off the bus (which kept moving) but sort of disappeared.

I have a view of orbiting objects around a sun. I pick one and put something else in orbit around it ( a moon I guess). It's a kind of galactic game. As I become interested in aspects of a planet or galaxy I zoom in or zoom out to those aspects. At some point i participated in some evolutionary paths for local life and technology, bombard another planet with meteors then watch it cool and continents form all in a manner of seconds. Pretty fantastical dream I don't have very many space dreams like that. Zooming around galaxies was fun.

I usually like to post my interpretation of people's dreams, but for now I'll just post some pictures that remind me of yours.
