0.2 micron mycobags to cover spawned bulk trays?

I was supposed to follow RR's video where he covers trays with foil but I was out of foil and plastic wrap so I used big 0.2 unicorn filter bags instead. I was too lazy to walk to the grocery store

I tried to search some info about this but I didn't find anything relevant enough. Is 0.2 micron good at all for this purpose? I closed the bags quite loosely with a rubber band though.
Does anyone else use these for this purpose? I guess I could use plain bags, too. The tray is quite pointless here.
I'm using plain hpoo, hpoo/coir and plain coir, 5 trays in total.

Anyone?
How about, would it be a bad idea to put some perlite on the bottom of the bag to keep the substrate moist?

Good job McGyver:)
This should achieve the same results. The point of the foil is to keep levels of c02 high during colonization and also to act as a contam barrier. You have achived both of these with this method. use what you have available to you, and you have. good job.
edit: just read your second post. do NOT add perlite, it is not neccessary. As long as your substrate was brought to proper field capacity you will be fine. the bag you have the trays in will keep in the moisture enough so the sub will not dry out.

Ok! Thanks a lot for your help. I was quite worried if these bags provide too little air exchange.
I noticed that my bulk substrate was a bit wet and my grains a bit dry. I hope they compensate each other.

The only reason you cover the substrate during colonization is to help keep a high CO2 level and to prevent the substrate from drying. It's not to stop contaminants. RR

Yes. I have figured that out that it isn't supposed to keep contaminants out. I thought that the basic idea was to keep moisture in the substrate.
If high CO2 level is required, wouldn't it be a good idea to flatten those bags? Now they look more like balloons.
