Drip shield, needed?
    #1994304 - 10/09/03 07:10 PM (13 years, 2 months ago)

This is my first attempt and I'm getting close to having to birth some cakes. I am following the PF Tek almost to a T. I am going to go with an ultrasonic humidifier and a rubbermade terrarium. Do I need a drip shield or not. Seems like I have read some posts that say it is not needed. Are there any benefits to not having it, bigger flushes etc.? Any help would be welcome.

my advice would be to use perlite for your first time. its easy to get and use and it works great... and no a drip shield is not needed

Thanks. I might try that next time or maybe do half a batch in a perlite terrarium and the other half in one with a humidifier and see which one yields more. Another question about dunking and rolling. I have read the Dunk Tek, no problems doing that but the rolling part I don't quite understand. I know you roll it in dry verm and then mist it. I've done a search and can't seem to find anywhere where it says what to mist with. Is it just spring water or H2O2 mixed with water? Thanks.

What is the ratio of H2O2 and water? How much do I mist it? Do I saturate it or just enough to get it damp. Thanks.
